hi...first let me know ...do you have been reinstalling new operating system (OS) to this laptop...if the answer yes..make sure u not forget to install driver for your laptop completly....and make sure that drivers is compatible with your OS.
second...do you any problem before with this device?...if not check the default setting of the device...check via control panel...audio and device....make it turn on as factory setting...but if yes have ever check with another mic...if still happened you must take your laptop to acer nearset service center...that mean you have problem with hardware on your laptop
If you have a laptop it will have a built-in Mic If you have a webcam with a built in Mic you now have 2 on your computer and you are going to have to determine which one to use (make it 'default') I would recommend using the webcam mic as default. You do not say what your pc or OS is so here is the setup for Laptop x Vista Set up Audio
Laptop x webcam/mic x Vista
TEST SPEAKERS Right click on speaker icon in System Tray Select "Playback Devices" The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible Right click on the volume graph and click "Test" Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard
SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC Click "Recording" tab. Set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click OK Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later) Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays
Configure to Skype
If you have an earlier OS than Vista you may have to access your hardware from the Control Panel
Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click
on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop
down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
My laptop model is compaq presario c754tu, I have installed Windows Vista Business, and the audio is working fine, but the internal mic and external microphone both work together........i want to mute the internal mic..... how i can do it ? please reply me on my email id i.e. firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi please check the audio properties settings of your system . The MIC would have been MUTED . Uncheck the mute against mic and you should be able to record thru the built-in mic.Right click on speaker icon in taskbar audio properties under mic uncheck in the box beside mute.
assuming that the mic itself isnt faulty, go to the right side of your taskbar and right click on the grey spekaer, not the red one and click on recording devices.
When the window pops up make sure the mic realtek HD audio has a green tick and not the line in icon, next click properties and check the settings, you can also configure the mic from this window.
