I turned on the cleaner function on my maytag oven. When it stopped it wouldn't open and now says F3. is there anything i can do to get it open myself?

Hi jjscottsb,

The F3 fault code shows a Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). To fix this problem please check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. If wiring is ok, you need to replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

F2 &F3 error codes, oven keeps beeping, I already tried turning off circuit breaker did not solve problem

F2
- E0 Shorted keypad (also called touch
pad) 1. Check keypad connector for firm
connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code
returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane
switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this
case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock). F2 - E1 Keypad cable unplugged F2 - E5 Cancel key drive line open F2 - E6 Cancel key drive line open F3 - E0 Oven temperature sensor (RTD) opened (upper oven,

What does the F3-1 code on a Maytag flat top double oven range mean?

Hi there,

Well error F3 means open or shorted sensor. The cancel key resets the control and stops the alarm. If fault is still present it will reactivate the alarm when the cook mode is chosen. The error F3-1 indicates problem with Sensor of upper oven
Solution - Check sensor and wiring for shorted or open circuit. you need a multimeter to check them. Please post comments for further help or information........

Good Luck!!

Codes are correct .The back needs to be removed and your sensor is a 2 wire part ,The easiest way to make sure you change the right one is by turning oven to on and run a voltage test at each end of the thermostat.Rule follows : If oven is on you should have 115 -120 volts present and make sure you have the same at the other end of thermostat ,if you have the volts at one side and not the other than that is the bad thermostat. Please rate this !
