I have the same problem with my phone and trying to restore it. It really sucks because all the pics are gone then, but I hope the phone will work after that I post some more once it worked....I found this advice:
Try to get the iPhone in DFU mode.

    1. iPhone and Mac/PC are connected

    2. Shut down the iPhone and quit iTunes (if running)

    3. On the iPhone hold start/sleep and home for 10 seconds

    4. Let go of start/sleep BUT keep holding Home for >10 seconds

    5. keep holding Home until iTunes starts up and finds an iPhone in recovery/restore mode.

    6. Let go of home

The iPhone's screen should be black all the time. Restore to the firmware you want to use then.

I talked to ATT who sent me to apple who then sent me back to ATT who sent me to the store where they thought it was a SIM card problem. It is NOT a SIm card problem. I had the phone 6 days. ATT told I MUST return the phone to APPLE but I had to have done without a phone till APple would fix it. What a piece of C R A P. It's ashame. The idea is good but there is no insurance on this phone and ATT takes no responsibility for the equipment. This really sucks.

OBTW, ATT also charges a 10% restocking charge on the phone which I gladly paid to get rid of the iPhone.

i connected my 3g to charge for about 1 hour to mi Mac; now all i see on screen is the "i tunes cd" and a "usb cable" showing; i return my iphone back for warranty (telcel) but they don't have a solution. It also appears a different internal IMEI number over the emergency only key pad from once you key in: *#06#.

Did your phone ever work? I can tell you what you're looking at. That is what the phone looks like when it is "bricked", ie. directly out of the box before connecting to iTunes. IMEI is the serial number and ICCID is the sim card number. If it has never worked, just plug it into iTunes and you should be good to go. If it has worked before then I don't know.

Hello,

Try this: Holddown the power button and home button simultaneously for 15 - 20seconds then release. Soon after you may have to press the power buttonagain to restart the device. The iPhoneshould reset itself without any loss of data. If it boots in recoverymode ( you will be a cable on the screen ) you will need to connect toitunes to restore the device.

This is most ofter the #1 solution to fix this issue. Hope it works for you.

Thank you for using Fixya

What is the iemi code for iphone modelA1203

The imei code is unique for each phone. There are 3 ways to find the imei code for your iphone:

1 - About screen - Tap Settings > General > About to view your serial number, IMEI/MEID, and ICCID.

2 - Remove the SIM tray, the serial number and IMEI will be printed on the SIM tray

3 - If you still have the device's original packaging, you can find your serial number and IMEI/MEID printed on the barcode label that's affixed to the packaging.

Restore problem with emergency call display all time

Your iPhone is not factory unlocked. This means if you purchased it from the USA you need a deactivated ATT SIM card to get it past the activation or use a program called QuickPWN to Jailbreak + Activate your iPhone
