Question about Frigidaire GLTF1240A Front Load Washer

Washer wont wash- nothing...

I put a load in the washer, and come back to see the bottom of the load is soaked while the top of the load is dry indicating to me it hasn't moved 1 bit- the timer gets to the spin cycle and makes a loud humming noise with no action. Also when washer was working, it sounded like a turbine engine when on spin cycle- worth the fix on a 5 year old machine?

my washer wont do anything but the spin cycle? help please

I have the same problem. It fills with water and then it does nothing. Other discussions I read pointed to it being a problem with the water pump. So thinking thats what it was I replaced that (easy job and only $80 for the pump). Now as I move the knob through the wash cycles by turning it I get it to drain at least but it won't agitate or spin or go through any cycle other than fill, sit there, and only drain while I manually turn the nob to final spin. I took the back panel off and found that the motor is not even turning as I go through the cycles. I removed the belt and tried it again, still no movement. I called a repair shop and they told me it was the main control electronics and wanted $400 to install that. Any suggestions?

Remove the back panel if it has one and look for belt that is off. Before you put it back on check the pulley for any looseness. It should be tightened if you need to.I'll assist you further if you need my help. Please Rate this !!!
