I have a Kawasaki kx20s 10 speed boys mountain bike that needs the rear brake cable replaced and both the front and rear derailer gear cables adjusted or possibly replaced. Is there a manual or diagram of how this shoud be done? I have a BELL multi-gear cable replacement kit for this purpose but the instructions are vague.

1st The brakes: Once you have ran the cable through appropriate cable holders and to the brakes-you hold the brake calipers shut-remove excess slack from cable by pulling on it with pliers and back off a little before tightening the nut holding the cable(amount you have to back off tension depends on how strait your wheel is).
The Front Derailer doesn't usually have adjustment so you put the gear lever in top gear-loosen the nut holding the cable-push the derailer into the right position-remove slack from cable with pliers then tighten the nut.
The Rear Derailer: will need to be done the same way if your running a new cable..*But there is a screw on the derailer near the junction of the 2 parts that adjusts the position of the derailer- so you can do minor adjustments-**NOTE-there are 2 screws- 1 changes the position in or out and the other changes the angle**

Testimonial: "Thank you so much for your help. Still hard to turn the shifter on handlebar and the rear derailler seems frozen, any advice??"

How do i connect cable to front derailer on shimano comfort 050 gears ?

I'm confused, You show a rear derailleur and ask a question about a front one? Cable for front usually goes from bottom up, through an eyelet then into the holding bolt. Make sure your cable is in the low gear setting and your chain is on the smallest gear. Pull cable tight, and secure. If you have problems, take your bike to the nearest bike shop, they can help you

I need an owners manual for a pacific evolution bike

Are you sure the derailer or sprocket are not bent? The next thing if not that is the cable itself is it pulling the delairer to release the gear from the gear it is in? one final is the bike just may not go into 6th gear depending on which gear you have the front sprocket in because it would pull the front sprocket to far past the crank space where the pedals are at.

I need to change my back gear cable

Shift your rear derail down to the smallest cog on the cassette. Loosen the nut that holds the cable onto the derail. If you are reusing the outer cables back the inner cable out to the shifter. If your replacing the outers also, note where they are installed. There should be an allen screw on the bottom of the shifter that will free up the shifter and expose the knob on the end of the cable. Pull out the old cable and install new in reverse. Insert the cable into the clamp on the derail. Pull the cable taught with pliers while tightening nut on clamp. Run through the gears while on middle ring on front. Turn barrel adjuster on derail in and out to dial in shifting. That should do it. Good luck and let me know if you have any problems.

Hufyy 26" Tundra 18 speed bike....GEars are clicking

Sounds like the rear derailer needs adjustment. Are you handy with tools? There should be a micro adjuster on the cable for the rear derailer. It might be located at the shifter on the handle bars, or at the rear derailur. Follow the cable from shifter to derailer, Look for an adjusting nut, when you find it, turn it counter clockwise to remove slack from the line. Go one turn at a time, ride it and shift through the gears. Repeat until the noise stops or you run out of adjustment. If that doesn't fix it, you need to srew the adjuster all the way back in, shift it to the highest gear, loosen the bolt the holds the cable on the derailer and pull the cable tight and tighten the bolt back down. If you are unsure about doing this, go to your local bike shop and have them fix it AND show you how to do it.
