Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

2 Answers

Black Monitor The computer was working as expected. When we started it tonight, the monitor stays black. Everything else appears to be working. My wife thinks she might have hit a key which made it go black. Is there a way to turn the monitor on or off? If not, what would make it stay black?

Try taking out your battery and leaving it out for 5 minutes.  During boot press F2 to access BIOS to check your default video out source is LCD.  Also try Fn+F5 to change the modes of video after you think windows is all the way booted up.  Does it POST?  When booting does the drives make noise then hear a beep.  If it beeps it passed Power On Self Test.

When I turn off the computer or restart the computer or put it in a sleep mode, my LCD monitor LG Flatron W2234S always turns black but the LED stays blue instead of yellow and the monitor does not react...

Try changing the Resolution for the lowest one, if it works it will see the letters and everything very big. I have same trouble, specially since I change the original Vista Starter for the new Windows 7, I have not found a free controler that helps me and I have seen many people with same the problem. Sorry for my english.

Screen appears on for three seconds then goes black

Try the monitor on another computer that you know works, If it works on another computer then that means you have no video output on the original computer and you'll need to reseat the memory on that computer.

If you get the same response on another computer, then that means the monitor is bad and you'll need to replace it.

Dell Computer Monitor - Black Screen

If it worked on a computer at the IT person, it is most likely a faulty graphics card in your computer. You may want to get that checked out.

Monitor black screen

Your first step in troubleshooting this problem is to plug in another monitor to your computer. If you are having the same problem it is related to your computer. If the second monitor works fine then your original monitor is shot.
