Try opening up the case of the computer. And you will notice a small button cell in the motherboard. Try replacing that, as the cell might be out of voltage which actually power ups the display.

I would suggest you buy a better computer. 128mb of RAm is not really enough for Win ME. you should have a minimum of 256mb but go for the most your computer can handle. The reason the computer fails on the RAM check is because the RAM has failed.
Not sure, but consider it just like a regular land line phone. So connect the line to the modem and plug a phone to the line port. You should get dial tone. The modem may need to re-seated or re-installed if there is no dial tone.
You need to check the RAM that is the first causes of beeping your system unit. Try to remove the RAM and clean the dust and re insert it. Try to use the other memory slot. You can try it 3 times. Thank you!
PC desktops are easyier than a laptop. it you lay on it's side and remove the screws the side will slide off and you will see the motherboard and on there will be a silver battery. just pop it out and replace with the same type. Google how to open up your computer if you cant work it out
