Machine will not accept disc

I am having the same problem with mine too - ewr20v5. I just talked to a customer service rep, and he said that to take a disc cleaner to it, and then if that does not work call for a firmware upgrade. That should take care of it. I asked if this is a recurring problem and he wa shemming and hawing about it and finally said "sort of". So in my opinion I think the Emerson folks know there is a problem and are hoping that everone just lets it go by the wayside. I will try to clean it this weekend and see if it works. If it doesn't then I will get the update and try that. If that doen's worj I anm probably going to just give it to Sal's Army or Goodwill, or just junk it. At that point, it is not worth the trouble - will probably just get a new one since they are so cheap now.
