Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Web Camera

1 Answer

Webcam installation After installing the software and attaching the webcam to the usb port it will not turn on. The help says it must be focused but there is nothing that comes up to help with that. One message was that there were no drivers.

How do i get my logic3 webcam to work

Most modern operating systems come with plug-and-play for devices such as webcams, so simply plugging the webcam into the USB port will most likely trigger Windows to install the necessary driver software.
From there, start whatever software you're using the webcam with (e.g. Skype, AIM) and check that it recognises the new camera. The settings menu will have an option to select the webcam, and will probably show a test image from the camera.
Focus it using the manual focus and you're good to go.

How do i install the webcam

The webcam you want to connect should have a cable attached to it. One end is connected to the cam and the other end is to be inserted in the USB port.

Plug in the cam cable in the USB port of your computer and wait....

Note:Now, Keep your driver software ready. You will get it in the CD provided by the manufacturer of the cam at the time of purchase.

Now a window will appear stating "Found New hardware wizzard"

Click on NEXT....then select the NEXT it will search for the driver in your CD and install the same.

Now Reboot the system and start using Webcam

My picture is very fuzzy and out of focus

Some webcams have a focus ring around the lens that rotates to sharpen the image
Others rely on software in the webcam dashboard that zooms in or out to achieve the best focus
Using a webcam designed for a 2.0 USB connection in a 1.1 USB port will affect the quality
Make sure you have the support software loaded on your computer

Visit the Microsoft hardware support page

The picture in my logitech webcam is not clean but cloudy

Launch the logitech toolbar from your desktop or 'All Programs'
Start your webcam from the 'Quick Capture' menu and then move to the 'Settings' menu - try and trim the image from here.
1) Try rotating the focus ring around the lens to achieve the optimum clarity
2) Make sure you have DirectX installed
3) Check your USB ports are 2.0 ('enhanced' - on the USB info in Device Manager) My laptop has 4 USB ports
2 are 1.1 and 2 are 2.0. The difference it makes to my logitech is amazing
4) If all else fails - re-install your software

Gigaware webcam installation not working

Remove the CD, then go to the program files folder and remove the folder that applies to this device. Remove the device from the USB port.

Reboot the PC.

Reinstall the software before you attach the webcam to your PC. Only attach the device when directed by the installation program, or after you have fully installed the software.

It's a pain in the ****, but reboot after you finish installing the software and then attach the device. This will allow the device manager utility to fully recognize the device and apply the appropriate drive files.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work. Hope this helps. Bud
