Question about Nikon D50 Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens

1 Answer

Memory Card I have had my Nikon for a few months and I got it used. recently i was deleting photos and i think that i deleted some sort of file. my camera will now no longer allow for memory cards to be used. The play back screen says Card Cannot be Used. It will not allow me to take photos.

Went the same route. The 1Gb card got corrupted or bad and I bought a 4Gb card which of course didn't work either. Sent the camera to APS (Nikon Authorized Service) and make a point to mention ( in writing and by phone) the detail about using a 4Gb card. They cleaned and checked the camera ($127.00) and toll me the 1Gb card wasn't good. Finally, the kid in the store tool me the D50 do not take more than 2Gb. Reviews and manuals don't mention the detail.Oh, well...

Any body knows if the D50 take some kind of macro lenses?

The first memory card I had, had gotten corrupted, and the D50 can only take 2GB memory cards and below. the 2nd one i had bought was a 4GB memory card. I just had to get a new low capacity one.

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Deleted photos by mistake Is there anyway of

You can often successfully recover deleted photos from a PC, phone or camera memory card or USB Memory stick, it just depends on what's happened since the files were deleted.
When you delete files the data itself isn't deleted, just the index entry that says where the data for those files is located. The space containing the deleted files is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it becomes too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.
If the deleted files are on a memory card or USB memory stick, just don't save any new files to it.

One of the easiest ways to see if you can recover deleted files is to try some file recovery software. Recommended this data recovery as it saved my life many times.

I accidentally deleted all the pictures files from DCIM file folder on the computer (Imac) using "move to trash" option instead deleted them using camera (nikon D40x) menu. Now, even there is no images on...

Photos can be successfully retrieved from a memory card - however there is a catch. When you delete a photo, you really just tell the camera/computer to act like it isn't there. The actual bits in memory aren't changed to delete it (there is software you can get to actually delete them, but its usually completely unnecessary).
To get back your lost picture files try to use flash file recovery software. http://www.panterasoft.com/file-recovery/index.html
