What else can I try to get the Overlock tensions correct on a Burnett funlock 003? I have re-threaded checked the threading and messed with the tensions to no avail

You haven't provided symptoms of what is happening with your machine, so this is just a general guideline.

Remove all the threads from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading. Be sure to thread each thread IN THE ORDER specified--threading out of order will guarantee a problem! When threading the tensions, always give each thread an extra little tug to make sure it is seated completely (with one hand, grasp the thread below the thread tree and the other hand below the tension disk and tug--it may make a "pop" as it seats). Verify that each thread pathway is correct.

Set the tensions to the midway point. This is the standard beginning point for overlock tension adjustment, although some tweaking may be needed because every machine is different.

If the machine is still not performing correctly with some tweaking of the tensions, you may want to take it for service.

I have an elna overlock Pro 5DC, which I bought new years ago. The dealer went out of business, and with her the repairman who knew Elnas. When mine developed a problem, I had it serviced by an all-brand...

If you google elna overlock pro 5dc, I found this site and you can download your manual for $10, hopefully it will help you.http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/30251842-elna-pro-5-dcde-sewing-machine-owner
It is so frustrating to have a great machine and no one can help you. Good luck

Hi, I am unable to do a overlock stitch , elna l1

Check with sewusa for a threading guide and manual.

Look inside the font door of the machine to see if there is a threading guide.

THREADING FOR JUKI MO 357

Put new needles in it.

Following the colors, thread the upper looper first, then the lower looper. Next thread the needles. Always thread in this order.

Bernina overlocker 203 locking thread is not sewing on fabric

You need to adjust the tension for your threads. Use scraps to test sew as you adjust the individual threads to bring them into proper balance. Your manual will tell you how to do this.

Janome 184D - thread tension

You may need to purchase a Gathering Attachment
Part No. 200 217 101

BUT be sure it is suitable for your model first
(I am unsure which one you have)

Thread tensions are set at manufacture to all = 3 for standard work, your manual is generally helpful for many answers.

The "Janome Overlocker Sewing Guide" is a very detailed publication and has this to say about Gathering without any additional attachment.
