Hi, according to this site How to Treat Your Hot Tub Best Hot Tub for 2014 First check th pH levels with the pH level checker. That is pretty straightforward and should be included in instructions with your pH checker (which may have come with your hot tub)
It's good to do a chlorine shock once you fill the hot tub with water.
So what will you need? pH tester/pH tester strips chlorine And chemicals for balancing ph ... pH+ and pH- which you will surely find in a shop with pools. Each of this should come with instructions. Good luck!
ok is this an add-on unit for a bathtub or is this an entire hot tub??need to know before I can answer..I used to install hot tubs..I own three now..what is the issue with yours other than how to use it..
Hi, it sounds like the tub seal has failed. It is important to get this repaired because it stops the water from getting into the gearbox and the oil from getting into your washing.
To replace the tub seal you need to remove the agitator, inner drum and outer tub.
There should be detailed instructions with the repair kit which describe exactly how to carry out the repairs, but you may need a specialised tool to undo the tub nut. Your local service agent should stock these, but I suggest seeing if you're able to rent or borrow it because it's no use for anything else.
There are 2 bearings and a seal. To remove inner tub you'll need to use a hammer/mallet or special tools, and you'll need to basically strip the washer to get to the inner tub. Maytag (Whirlpool) does not sell bearings separately, look them up on ebay, use "maytag neptune bearings" as a key phrase. IIRC, the special tool was also available on ebay for lease. Instructions on how to replace bearings are available there also. If no luck on ebay, try googlee for the same key phrase.
This is a 5 piece surround. For this project you will need the surround, polystryene adhesive, a utility knife, caulking and caulking gun, dish soap and the box the surround came in. On this type of surround the back and end walls are installed 1st and then the corner shelves are installed. Ensure the wallboard or substrate is clean and free of contaminates. Best to install new backer board or moisture resistant drywall first before proceeding. You will need adhesive specifically designed to glue the panels and corner shelving to the walls. Common product is PL700 from Lepage. Follow the manufactures instructions for the adhesive you are using. Avoid any adhesives not approved for use with plastics as they will damage the surround. Remove the tub spout, hot and cold water handles and diverter handle if your shower is equiped with one. Common diverters are a pull up on the tub spout. Install the panels with the bottom edge directly on the tub deck. For the end panel where the plumbing comes through you will need to cut access holes. Use the box that the surround came in as a template so that you are not accidentilly cutting holes in the wrong location. After installing the panels and shelving corners you will need to seal the seams with 100% silicone caulk. Peel the shelf edges back slightly and run a bead of caulk underneath the seam. Smooth the caulk line out. TIP Use a latex glove and dip your finger in dishsoap. The silicone will not stick to the dishsoap and will leave a clean fine line. Run a 1/4 bead of silicone where the surround meets the tub and also where the plumbing goes through the surround. Allow to dry and cure as per the manufacture's suggestions. TIP Install expanding foam in the cavaties of the shelving. This will provide a more rigid shelf and will extend the life of your new tub surround. Good luck with your project.
fill the tub one third full with water you must be able to access the under side of the tub cut hole in drywall if possible spray two large cans of sprayfoam allow 5 hours for foam to set and drain water. problem fixed.
This job is not something you will won't wish to undertake. Call repair shops for pricing. You did not say how old unit is, it might be a better way and buy a new one.
If you have removed the drive belt from the rear pulley and the inner spin basket does not spin freely, you either have a drum bearing seized up on you, or something binding between the spin basket (stainless steel tub) and the outer tub shell. First, you need to reach inside the wash tub with the washer empty. Place the palm of your hand at the 12 o'clock position and push straight up. There shouldn't be any play in the spin basket. If you can feel the basket wobble up and down, you have either a bearing problem, or a spin basket support (spider arm) broken on the back of the spin basket. If there is no play at all, you probably have something caught. Small articles of clothing can sometimes get pulled between the tubs and usually ends up around the support shaft in the rear. This will obstruct the basket from spinning freely and could eventually cause damage to the drive motor, spin basket and/or tub bearings. You can use the instructions for replacing a rear tub bearing that I have posted under my Tip and Tricks for instructions on how to disassemble and inspect the tub. The bearing may not be bad, but you still need to check to see if anything is binding the spin basket against the tub shell and inspect the spin basket supports. Unfortunately, you have to disassemble the washer to be able to inspect any of these items I mention. I hope this helps you.
