How to update me psp version to 4.05

Recharge your battery fully to do an update, leave the psp also hooked up to te power supply.

Updates for your psp can be found here:
http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates

Make on a memory stick the folder PSP, in that folder a folder called GAME, under this folder a folder called UPDATE.
These folders are capital sensitive see also:
http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates/PSP/PC.html

Copy EBOOT.PBP on the memory card to \PSP\GAME\UPDATE.

Putt the memory card in your psp, go in the xmb to the game\memory stick menu and run the update.

What Firmware your psp have?

  • Version check: On the PSP Menu (also known as XMB= Xross Media Bar), and goto ‘Settings Menu’ >> ‘System Settings’ >> ‘System Information’ and you should see version of your PSP.
Only PSP with Custom firmware e.g. M33 has Recovery menu and be able to run any homebrews apps - PSP ISO Games..

try to visit my blog all about sony PSP firmware and homebrew..

PSP display is always shaking problem...

Please turn on your PSP and once in the menu mode press select to enter your XMB menu and be sure your settings are something like this (sorry but our tester psp is currently disassembled) =

CPU Speed - Normal/default
Game Clock - Normal/default
USB - Memory Card
Default
ISO Video mount device - None

You can email me if you want the exact list. We will have our tester PSP in one piece again by tomorrow. Also, if this doesn't fix your PSP try reinstalling your firmware.

PSP SCREEN FLICKERS AND GOES SLOW IN MAIN MENU

Ok...this sounds crazy but it happened to one of my PSPs. I updated the firmware on my system and the menu started stalling and taking a long time to respond. I shut the PSP all the way down....holding the power button until the light shuts off (about 4 or 5 seconds)...Hold the R button and power the system on again (you should be in recovery mode)...go to CPU speed and make sure it is either set at "Default" or "222"....I belive 222 is the default setting....also make sure the UMD is also set at "Default" or 222....if you're going to use the UMD.

PSP WILL NOT LOAD DISCS

Hmm there might be something wrong with the drive or the XMB software (read: firmware) which controls the PSP.

You can try updating the PSP to a more recent firmware (if possible) by using it's online update feature or by downloading it from the PlayStation website.

If that won't work I think it's an hardware defect and in that case you'll need to contact Sony PlayStation tech. support.

If you need help updating your PSP unit, let me know.

P.S. No need to type in caps, just sounds like you are screaming ;)

Greetings,

DarkNeogen.
