In most cases, you remove the cover, mark the hinges (so they get right back where they were to prevent leakage) remove the hinges, then remove the door.

If you want to just replace a door panel, normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Have a GE Spacemaker (Model # JVM1650SH05). Microwave works for a few minutes then displays "F3" code. How can you tell if the Touchpad or Control Board is bad? When it is working for those few minutes,...

Hi,

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

Part number WB07X10959 this part can run over 100 bucks. If you shop around you could get a good price.

Good Luck

Ge Microwave model JVM1650SH05 Error code F3. Microwave turns on by itself and keeps beeping

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

The easiest and quickest way to repair this yourself (it's easy) is to order a new control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad.

It's part # WB07X10959 and you can get it for $92.50 plus shipping here.

You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams at that link.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

I have broken handle on the GE Spacemaker Model JVM130H. Can this be replaced and how?

The door handle can easily be replaced on most microwave ovens. You just have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The cost usually averages about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided. However, price and configuration of your oven also depends upon the MODEL NUMBER. If the model number is correct, the part number(s) for a replacement door handle is WB15X10119 and WB15X10120. The door handle on this model has two pieces.

If you have any questions, please post back with your model number and let me know. I hope this helps you

The door handle broke off my GE microwave

Actually the door handle CAN be replaced at a cost much less than pruchasing an entire new microwave oven. And, YOU can repair this yourself and save the cost of a service call. On MOST microwave ovens, you just have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

If the model number is correct, the part number is WB15X322. The cost is about $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

If you have any questions, or if your model number is different than the one listed, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you

GE JE1540WW03 Microwave Oven

When you remove the door, it's absolutely critical to get it back on exactly as it was, or microwave leakage can result. I only recommend removal of the door in cases of several damage or when separate door parets are not available. Door parts should be available for this model. You can find an exploded view of this model by entering your full model number at the GE parts Web site at: http://www.geappliances.com/shop/prts/ The exploded view should give you some idea of how it comes apart and goes back together.
