Question about Epson Stylus Photo RX700 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Error message - no ink

I have just put all new (non Epsom) ink cartridges in as and when needed, but they are all fullish and now, suddenly, an error message won't allow me to use the printer at all. It claims i need to replace all the inks. I am on a mac and can't download the programme to resolve this and live in the wilds and need my printer. Please help! Will buying Epsom cartridges resolve this and why has it been working ok on others up til now? Thanks, Maria

    Thanks, I tried all that but no joy. The LCD reading still says all the inks are out, although it also will tell me (before this comes up and freezes everything) that the ink levels are fine.
    Very frustrating. I have even opened new cartridges and tried them, same problem.

    Hi Thanks for this...in the meantime I rang the ink suppliers and they told me to take out the cartridges one by one and then replace one by one. In this way we found that one of them was not working correctly and causing the whole problem. It had been working but wasn't now. Anyway, I replaced that cartridge with a new one (Epsom compatible) and since then all well. The company are sending me a replacement cartridge.
    I will bear in mind your instructions if I have problems again I can't resolve in this way.
    Thanks for the support - very appreciated.

Hi Maria,

Try removing all of the ink cartridges again. Open the cover and remove all of the inks. Close the cover and turn the printer off. Leave it off for about 30 to 45 secs. Turn it back on. Install again the ink cartridges. Check if it will charge after closing the cover.

If it still says that ink need replacement, check your lcd panel. Usually it will tell you what ink cartridge needs replacement. This might be a faulty ink cartridge.

    Hi Maria,

    This is an issue regarding inks that is not being recognize by your printer. Epson inks has an embedded green circuit board on it. That circuit board connects on the pins located inside your the printer. You can actually clean that pins using a cottons buds, lighter fluid then an alcohol.

    After removing all of the ink cartridges, turn the printer off and unplug it from the outlet. You will have to use a flash light so that you could locate those pins inside then use a cotton buds (used for clearing ears) to clean it. Put a little bit of fluid on it. Rub it gently 4 to 5 times on every pins. Make sure that you don't rub it too hard because cottons might get into those pins. Do this in all of the pins inside the printer, left panel and right panel. Then follow it up with an alcohol on the cottons buds. Same steps above.

    Once your done, let it dry for a couple of hours. 2 to 3 hours will be enough. Turn the printer on. Install the inks then close the cover.

    If it won't still recognize the ink cartridges, this is already a hardware issue.

Refilled my ink cartridges on hp 309g gets error message


Yes it does work on HP C309g-m if you place a cartridge one by one as follow:
1- open the cover
2- replace an original hp cartridge by the compatble non hp cartridge
3-unplug the printer
4- close the cover
5-plug printer back on
6- press ok to all messages
7-repeat from step 1 to 6 above for each new non hp cartridge

Yes, that would have caused the error,
But first try to inspect the printer, locate any obstructions,torn paper, on the printer's paper path.
If all is well, try using other cartridge, Original ones if you may have or may borrow from others, for this step, you can check if that has been the issue, for Epson strictly says to use original inks cartridges, for using non-genuine ones, causes several troubles such as this one.
If still the problem is there, a call or visit from an Epson repair center would be the best thing to do, there maybe some parts damaged from the insides of the printer, that in no reason a user can repair by himself.

If this is brand new, it needs to have its ink cartridges installed and paper in its tray. It won't be happy until it's completely ready to go.

Dell 944 all in one - used NON-Dell Print Cartriges - Cheaper


Hi there
Your error message is coming from the Dell Series 5 ink Cartridge. To reset the error message, unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds and then plug everything back in. This usually resets any error messages on the printer. Make sure the Dell Series 5 ink cartridges are intalled correctly by removing them and re-seating them .
Black in left or black side, color in right side or color side

If using a photo cartridge...

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset

It is also possible to get a new ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement one.

Epsom Rx620 states use originals for ink cartridges


Try to hold down both 'stop' and 'B&W' button when you press the 'on' button to start the printer machine. This should erase the error message and let you print.

Secondly, to run the software your printer has to be in service mode. Do that by
- unplug cable
- press and hold "power" button
- plug cable
- press "resume" and release
- release the "power" button
At this stage, your computer will detect a new hardware

Run the software.
