You probably need to upgrade your drivers for Vista. Go to the website for your printer and reinstall the correct driver - it's avery common problem

Tip

Network Windows 7 with Xp and Vista

Windows 7 includes a new way to share data between all computers in the house with the Residential Group. But only when computers running Windows 7 may join the Group residential and enjoy the new features of sharing, playing multimedia files remotely, etc.. If you have computers running Windows XP or Windows Vista networking with Windows 7, you can still share your files and printers in Windows 7 "old" by following the instructions in this case practice. Below are the steps to do the same.
Check the workgroup:

To be a network, your computers with XP, Vista and Windows 7 should be part of the same workgroup.
Click the Start button. Right-click Computer (My Computer in XP) and click Properties.

In the Settings area of the computer name, verify the name of the working group. The default name is WORKGROUP but you can customize it by clicking the Change Settings button.

Make sure it is the same on other machines on the network. Under XP, the information is in the Computer Name tab.

Enable Sharing:

To enable sharing in Windows 7, you must change the settings of the Network and Sharing Center.
Click Start, then Control Panel.

Click Network and Internet and then click Network and Sharing Center.

In the left column, click Change sharing settings advanced.

Verify that the options Enable network discovery, Enable file sharing and printer sharing and Enable so that anyone with network access can read and write are checked.

Click Save Changes.

I change my computer XP for vista hp. My printer hp Deskjet F340 is not useful anymore. What can I do to fix it? Thank you

there is nothing you can do because vista has known compatability issues with HP printers and other hardware, you could go to the HP support website and look to see if any vista drivers have been released for your model, if not, you either have downgrade to XP or buy a new printer that works with vista

Bought a new computer had windows Vista on it my printer lexmark x4270 worked in my old windows XP,but it don't work with Vista. I tried to get a driver for it but no luck. where can I get a driver . I...

This usually happen with an old printer and new computer with new OS.
You can try downloading your new driver for Vista at Lexmark website here:

http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,204816596_652569478_0_en,00.html

If doesn't work, ask to customer service for assistance

But at this point:

1) is better to get a new printer compatible with Vista

or

2) Downgrade your OS to one compatible with your printer.

Need to download windows vista to install my hp psc 1410 all-in-one printer-scanner-copier to my new computer.

why??? If your computer is New it should have VISTA on it, or Windows XP, which is compatible with all printer scanner types. All you need to do is use the installation disk you got from the all- in -one-printer-scanner-copier and insert it into the disk drive and let it load up and follow instructions. if you do NOT have the disk--go to the website of the maker of the all-in-one and download the thing from there.

Hi, I bought a new computer it came with VISTA, now my two printers (X4250 & X75) will not work. Do I need new drives? Thad

Yes, you are going to need to download new drivers for Windows Vista

Windows Vista Driver For the X4250: http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/9086/

^^ Just download and install that , will get your printer right up

As for the X75 , there does not seem to be a Vista driver out for it yet , you can give the XP driver a shot and see if it will work

X75 Driver: http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:358:0:0

I have a Lexmark X75 all-in-one which I would like to keep but when I try to install it on my new printer I get an error message saying that it is not supported by VISTA. Help! I have looked for new driver...

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but Lexmark have decided they want everyone to buy new printers to use with Vista: they are not going to write vista compatible ones.

If you phone Lexmark and make a lot of noise about it some people have found they are offered discounts on new printers, but there is no guarantee you will be one of them. Good luck.

Computer just quit reconizing my Canon Pixma IP 6600 Printer. Have tried new cable, reloading drivers, different USB Ports...Nothing seems to work

First impression is try to do an install on another computer.
uninstall unit from computer, delete completely all drivers and its printer software from computer. if VISTA OS make sure a VISTA driver is loaded for that unit.

if a fairly new unit, return too store, possible short.
