Is your wireless card installed check in the installed devices section and see under network controllers if there is a wireless if not you'll need to run windows update via a lan and get the drivers if not find the support page for your laptop and download the drivers for the Wireless LAN card.

Wifi on laptop

To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Acer doesn't connect to protected wireless internet

It looks like you've keyed it in once, but you keyed it in wrong, so the system thinks the security key is there.

Which Operating System?

You can try connecting to another secured network and see if it asks for a security code, then try going back to your network.

Try getting to the security code by going to the wireless network connection and highlighting your network then click properties.

Net book will not connect to internet through WiFi. With cable is ok

Here are some suggestions that may resolve your problem....
1. if another computer is connecting OK through WiFi, then the problem is likely with the N150
2. if nothing else is connected through WiFi, then you need to check both N150 and router
3. on N150 without cable, click start and click Control Panel then double click Network Connections
4. Network Connections should show Wireless Network Connection and Local Area Connection
5. if Wireless Network is missing, click back and double-click Wireless Network Setup Wizard
6. if wizard done but Wireless Network Connection is Not connected in Network Connections window
7. in Network Tasks in left sidebar of Network Connections, click View available wireless networks
8. in Wireless Network Connection window, click on Refresh network list in Network Tasks sidebar
9. if No wireless networks were found.... then Make sure the wireless switch on N150 is on
10. with the N150 wireless adapter now enabled, click on Refresh network list
11. if SSID for your router's wireless is listed but not high-lighted, click on it to select the SSID
12. click the connect button, if security-enabled wireless network, a pop-up appears for key input
13. click the connect button after entering and confirming key inputs
14. if after step 10 the SSID for your router is NOT listed, you will need to log into the router
15. connect the N150 to the router using the ethernet cable then open Internet Explorer
16. in IE's address field, type the router's IP address - it is in the form of 192.168.x.x
17. if it is not known, open Network Connections window (step 3) and right-click Local Area Connection
18. in the pop-up, click on status
19. in the Local Area Connection Status window, click on the Support tab
20. the Default Gateway has the router's IP address
21. after entry of IP address, IE presents a router login window for userid and password entry
22. unless changed, the router userid and password defaults are given in the router's manual
23. on the first router screen (usually Setup), click on the Wireless tab
24. if Wireless Network Mode is Disabled, click on v for pull-down then click on appropriate mode
25. if SSID is blank, enter a Wireless Network Name then click Wireless SSID Broadcast enable
26. click Save Settings then click on Wireless Security tab in the Wireless window to set WEP/WPA
27. see your router's manual for details on how to setup WEP or WPA mode and its key
28. if you don't want wireless security (OPEN), then set Security Mode to Disabled (default)
29. if any changes, click on Save Settings then click on x at top right corner of IE to close it
30. disconnect the ethernet cable and right-click the Toolbar's Wireless Network Connection icon
31. if the icon (a single screen with ))) beside it) has a little red x, then on the pop-up...
32. click View Available Wireless Networks then in Network Tasks sidebar click Refresh Network List
33. continue with connecting to the wireless network at step 11....

I have a wireless connection but cannot open the browser. Another computer (laptop) is connecting fine on the same wireless.

If the Wireless Network Connection icon is at the bottom right of your Taskbar and has a red x, then right-click on the icon to bring up a pop-up window and in that window, left-click on View Available Wireless Networks. This will open a Wireless Network Connection window which will allow you to Choose a wireless network. If the window has the message "No wireless networks were found in range", then you will need to slide the spring-loaded switch at the right-front the netbook to the right momentarily and the message "Wireless LAN Enabled" should show in large green letters at the bottom of the screen. Then in the Wireless Network Connection window, left-click on "Refresh network list" item under Network Tasks. In about 10 seconds, a list of the wireless networks will be displayed which should include the name of your wireless access point (wireless router). Left-clicking on that list item will high-light it in blue. Now click on the connect button at the bottom-right of the window. If the list item has a lock symbol, a Wireless Network Connection pop-up will now show to ask you to "Type the key" otherwise for an unsecured or open access point, a connection should automatically occur without having to type any key. The Wireless Network Connection icon in the Taskbar should no longer have the red x and hovering the mouse cursor over it will show the Wireless Network Connection status. Hopefully, if this procedure has solved your problem, you should consider securing your access point to prevent unauthorized access of it. After securing, you will need to refresh the network list and then do a re-connect.

Cannot connect to wireless internet

First, do you have a wireless router button that enables or disables wireless internet? If so than it might have got accidently turned off. push it and see what pops up on screen. If it says enabled than it was turned of try connecting to internet again. If it says disabled than push again until it says enabled clearly that wasn't the problem. Next try going down to the two computers (right hand bottom corner) then double click them. This will bring up a wireless networks available, try refreshing this page. After refreshed if no networks are available than it may have to do with your internet provider. Try calling them to get a better detailed explanation.

Dell Inspiron 8600 Wireless connection driver Problem

I would check network connections in your control panel first and make sure your wireless connection is enabled. Next I would go to System in control panel and then go to device manager and check to see if the drive for the wireless is installed. May want to try here for the Driver download.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TURN ON THE WIRELESS CAPABILITY ON MY ACER ASPIRE LAPTOP 5810-4657 THERE FOR I AM NOT ABLE TO TO CONNECT TO MY WIRELESS INTERNET.

[1] make sure the switch for you wireless network is turned on, and I think it is either located between the screen joints and the keyboard, or right on the side of the computer [the side that always faces you when the computer is on the laps]. Next, check to see if it has detected any wireless Networks, you could do this by right clicking the icon for the wireless network, in your bottom right corner and clicking on 'view available wireless networks'. if they do not show, you will have to refresh. When the links are listed, select the one you wish yo connect to and click 'connect'. if it needs authentication, you'll have to provide a network key

I have a wireless internet card on my laptop, its a Belkin card. My internet connection was working great a couple days ago but now I can't even get the belkin program to come up on my computer so that I...

Go into Network connections in control panel and right click on the wireless network icon, then click on properties. In here change the settings so that Windows manages your wirless settings rather than the Belkin software, I find this normally works a lot better and more reliable. You should then be able to double click the wireless icon (Not the Belkin Icon) in the bottom corner of your screen and connect to your wireless network.

How do i use my built in wireless connection to connect to the internet, please.

make sure that your wireless or wifi light is on,you may try to press Fn and F2 at the same time to enable or swith on wireless..if wifi is already on,try going to start >> control panel >> network connections,go to wireless network connection and double click it, it will give you a list of wireless network,or right click and then "view available wireless network", if you get an error that windows cannot configure wireless connection,go to start >> all programs >> loo for either dell wlan utility or intel pro wireless, by opening that app,it will also search for wireless network in range, just double click on the network name where you want to connect and you sould be connected provided that "wireless network" doesnt have encryption like wpa or wep key..if your connecting to your home network, you should have wireless router at home and wireless is enabled on the router.
