Question about Mitsubishi VS-50603 50" Rear Projection Television
Out of the blue the TV decided it wanted this mode and would not stop.
The message at the bottom of the screen reads:
Installing Guide Plus+ data now
Turn TV off during installation
CANCEL to abort
It stays at one of the kids channel for a while, starts running though the channels at about 3-5 second intervals, then turns itself off. I don't have the original remote control, therefore I have no CANCEL button to hit. I unplugged the TV for a coule hours, but that didn't change the situation. Mitsubishi VS-50603 - Same problem. Stuck on TV Guide Plus Installation, cannot cancel.
None of the above worked for me even with the original remote. That installation message will keep repeating if the cable line is not directly connected to the tv (the message and tv will flicker with static which means it's flipping through each channel about 120). I disconnected the line from the comcast box and put it in the tv and let it flip through all the channels (it had picture this time and no static once the line was directly in the tv). I then turned the tv off for 2 hours and the installization was done.

The power supply will need to be changed. The capacitors inside the power supply are not sending the correct amount of power to tv and will need to be changed.
