Hi, I am using Philips Go Gear 4 GB MP3 palyer. It has 3 GB free space but when I start the player, below message comes . Please tell me how to solve the issue "Memory Full Connect to PC &...

Possible that some of the files in the GoGear are not to the requriement of the player. So download the media converter and download the files to be transferred to the player. In the first place connect the player to the PC and move OFF all the files , delete the memory to be free and then reload using the converter .

First time MP3 player users.

Its a great pleasure to own a portable MP3 audio video player. You can carry your songs and favourite videos everywhere you go. Here, I am providing few tips on how to use your Philips MP3 player.

If you have an older version, you can simply use drag and drop method to transfer music from your computer to your MP3 player. You can also use Windows media player 11 to transfer music. Here is a link:

If the songs are DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected, please use Rhapsody to transfer them. You can refer to this link:

All new players use Philips Songbird software. You need to transfer the video and audio files using Philips songbird. You can also use drag and drop method for the audio files which are in MP3 format. You need to transfer the Videos to the Songbird library and then transfer them to your player. You can install Songbird from the CD that came in the box, or download it from Philips support site.

Here is how to Rip CD using songbird:
Insert the CD into your computer and launch Songbird.
Once the CD is detected, it will automatically show up on the Philips Songbird screen.
Click the "Rip CD" on the right hand side and the ripping process will begin.

You need to transfer the Videos to the Songbird library and then transfer them to your player. Here is how to transfer files from songbird to your MP3 player:
1. Click "File" in the toolbar and select "Import Media". Choose the folder that stored your media files.
2. Select the media files that you want to transfer and then Right Click to display a drop list (You can press and hold the Ctrl button on the keyboard to select more than one file).
3. Select "Add to Device" and "(Your player model)".
Or you need to go to Songbird library and then drag and drop the files to your MP3 player's icon on the Songbird software.

Verify that the audio file format is compatible with your MP3 player if your player fails to recognize the transferred music.

Make sure you aren't transferring audio files that are DRM-encrypted, if your MP3 player displays an error message that reads "NO AUTHORITY" or "NO PERMISSIONS." It is likely that your license has expired or that you have obtained DRM protected music from an authorized source. If the file was purchased from a reputable source, contact them.

You should Reinstall your firmware if you're having issues with the functionality of your MP3 player,an outdated firmware can be the cause of the error

How to record music from the computer with a SA2325 MP3 Player. Send me the steps to follow. Thanks

Overview of online support for SA2325/02 ( GB ):

Link to the user manual:

Music files MP3 or WMA
Music transfer can be made seeing the player as a USB mass storage device in Windows Explorer, exploring the drives on "my computer": the player should show up as a drive letter with about 2 GB of memory.

The files must have the format and extension as shown on page 17 of the manual:
• Compression format: MP3 / mp3 (8-320 kbps
and VBR; Sample rate: 8, 11.025, 16,
22.050, 24, 32, 44.1, 48kHz),
WMA / wma (64-320kbps)
• ID3-tag support: Song title and artist name

Transferring songs from the computer to the player
After exploring the appropriate music files on the computer, the songs can be dragged and dropped to the memory of the player: read the blue
tips on page 11 of the manual.

Always disconnect the player safely after transfers, see point 3.4.1 of the manual on page 11.

Audio CD converting to mp3 / wma format: RIPPING
When wanting to convert audio CD's to files that can be played on the player, you could use Windows Media Player 11 or MusicMatch Jukebox using the RIP utility.

  • For WMP 11: update your Windows operating system.
  • When using XP MusicMatch Jukebox 10 can be downloaded from next site:
Right click on the download file under Soft32 Mirrors and select "Save target as..." Rember the download location for executing the file later, having the MusicMatch Jukebox installed.

I cannot download files onto my GoGear SA5125 audio video player

Subscribe to an online music service that is compatible with your GoGear, such as Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service - I repeat MP3 ONLY - no other Rhapsody service will work. There are other choices, of course.

Use Windows Media Player to transfer songs to your GoGear, or Rip CD's into Mp3 format - I repeat MP3 FORMAT - using Windows Media Player.

Videos must be transferred using the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter that came on the installation CD. You can also get this program from Philips website.

You will only be able to transfer photos to your GoGear if you have used the installation CD that came with the player. It contains a critical file that Philips has never posted to their website called the Philips Device Plug-In.

Philips go gear mp4 sa3245/02

The player is not defective. The older Philips players recognized DRM-encrypted WMA's - the newer Philips players do not. You have to get Rhapsody's Mp3 only service - I repeat, MP3 ONLY. No other level of Rhapsody service will work with the newer Philips' GoGear's - which is funny, b/c Philips co-branded with Rhapsody on the newer players. Rhapsody's Mp3 Only is not the only choice you have - but the key is only to transfer songs that are in mp3 or NONPROTECTED WMA format (non-protected wma's are not purchased songs, but songs ripped in the right way from CD).

Those WMA's have a particular DRM-encryption system that the player does not recognize - they have play rights, but no real transfer rights. Convert the files to Mp3 format using Media Monkey and you will be fine.

When i try to sync my SA3025/37 with the songs that i have downloaded from Napster to my win media player10 as soon as the sync process starts i get an error message (win has encountered unknown problem)...

Download & install the latest synching program.

Set your music files in the desired playback order by naming them in alphanumerical sequence such as 001_Drunken Monkey.mp3 followed by 002_Massachusetts.mp3 etc. prior to your transferring into the Digital Audio Player.

IMPORTANT: The player does not support the playback of copy protected (Digital Rights Management - DRM) music purchased from internet music stores.

You can download non copy protected music to the player via Windows Explorer

Hook up your player with the PC via the supplied USB cable.

Run Windows Explorer, and select the files to download from your music file source directory.

Drag and drop the selected files to the player, which is named as Philips in Windows Explorer.

Once the transfer process is complete, click on the removal icon on the task tray to stop and eject the player. When a message appears saying the USB device can now be safely removed from the system, click OK.

Unplug from the PC and enjoy the music on your player.

Upgrade the firmware

You can find the current Firmware version of your player in the settings menu under "Information".

Regularly check for new Firmware updates. If your firmware version is the same as the latest version posted on the support site then there is NO need to update the firmware.

However, if you do not have the latest version follows the steps below.

Connect the player to your PC.

Launch the Philips Device Manager at Start -> Programs -> Philips Digital Audio Player -> SA30XX -> Philips SA30XX Device Manager on your PC.

If you do not have this program installed yet, install it from the by-packed CD or download it from

Make sure all other applications such as Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device.

Make sure you are connected to the internet.

Click update, then follows on screen instruction to complete the firmware upgrade.

Good Luck.

Live, Love, Laugh.
