Printing problems after changing Cyan and Magenta cartridges

Changed the mentioned carts, and despite a smooth installation and me cleaning the heads, still getting prints without these colors - pictures have only black and yellow. Carts are Epsons. thanks

Re: Printing problems after changing Cyan and Magenta...

What's going on is common with epsons. Nine times out of ten it happens when there is a cartridge change. You need to have the head cleaned out with fluid. Power it off when the head can be moved, such as when you tell it to change ink cart.'s take a small syringe with a bit of hose stuck to the head and purge the gunk out with a solution. I use 4 oz. 99% alcohol, 4 oz. ammonia and nearly a gallon of water. You might not need such a large quantity of this solution, but I use it a lot. Anyhoot, bring the solution to a near boil, and suck some up into the syringe w/ hose. Slide the hose over the part of the head that sticks into the ink cartridge and inject the solution. Do this several times until you feel no resistance from the printhead! Should be good to go then. It might be too far gone by now though.

Re: Printing problems after changing Cyan and Magenta...

Try cleaning the contacts and cartridge sensors as well as the cartridges. Try deleting the printer settings and reinstalling. If you?re printing high res. Set the printer to default, and try printing again. Hope it works out

Nothing at all? If yes, problem is in the printer main board. Lost electricity to the head.

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

Unclip it again and clean contacts on both printer and cartridge with a lint-free paper and a little alcohol (isopropyl alcohol if you have it). Clip it back and run the head cleaning and alignment routine; that should be enough.

The lt magenta and magenta just quit printing between pages

1. Check if the cartriges are correctly installed:
Installing the Ink Cartridges

2. Print a diagnostic page and clean print heads, using the printer cleaning utility:
Color Mix or Missing Colors on the Diagnostic Page
Repeat if needed.

3. If this still doesn´t solve you problem, try resetting the printer and manually cleaning the cartrigdes as advised in this FAQ:

Colours stopped printing one by one - Epson R220

try a damp tissue on the bottom of the cartridge as there could be some ink dried up on there preventing the flow. ear buds work well to.

Canon i9900 isn't printing photo magenta

Use denatured alcohol to soak the print head. Then use suction to draw the alcohol back thru to the foam ports where the ink cartridges rest. Continue until the alcohol runs clear. Then use water and then repeat with alcohol. Allow to dry and re-install in printer. Use new ink cartridges when re-starting printing.

Hp 4600 no cyan printing

Firstoff, if you have tray 1 set to "any size" & "any type" they had problems with it going into calibration to frequently. If you upgrade the firmware this will take care of that. As for no Cyan, check the scanner interlock to insure it is opening the scanner cover. You could also go into diagnostics and disable cartridge check and swap the cartridges around, ie. cyan & magenta, run the print quality pages and see if the problem follows the cartridge. It could also be HV power supply.

Ink problems....

Take all carts out of the machine. Have a look into the cart holder. Is there ink swapping beneath the white plastic? (You might shake the machine ;-)

If yes, the cart holder leaks and needs replacement.

If not (your lucky!) it could be that the automatic cleaning procedure which starts when a cart is changed has soaked the carts empty.

Do set machine with date and time and NEVER unplug NOR use a power switch which breaks the power supply.

Do use constant power and switch off machine by pressing stand-by-fax-button!

Everytime when machine comes to (new) power contact it runs an extensive ink cleaning procedure. thats why your carts are always near empty....
The stand-by will prevent this and machine does some cleaning procedures which consumes only a few drops(!) of ink!

The display asks you if you have changed the carts. Do answer this question by pressing 1 for YES or 2 for NO.
This will reset the built-in inkcountermanagement to the correct settings

MFC 640CW not refilling with new ink cart.

Unplug printer from power. Wait a minute. Take all carts out. Plug machine to power. mfc demands carts. Reinsert carts (have a look if they all filled with ink!!). If asked press 2 (No change) despite you use a new cart press 1 Yes cart changed.

Should work!
