I cannot download anything on my laptop.. my laptop has been recently reformat and has updated its operating system.

Normally this issue happens after installing the a system related software or an upgrading/ reinstalling a operating system. Please read the below steps very carefully and follow the procedure below to resolve the issue.
Download and install the following application updates in the exact order they are given.

IMPORTANT:All of the listed application updates are available online. Software and driver updates for your Sony product are available online.

1. Audio Driver (most recent)
2. Video Driver (most recent)
3. Sony Firmware Extension Parser Device Driver
4. Sony Shared Library Update
5. Sony Setting Utilities Update
6. VAIO Event Services Update (If available)
7. VAIO Launcher Software (S1/S2/AV Buttons)

If the above order does not work, try the order below.

1. Audio Driver (most recent)
2. Video Driver (most recent)
3. Sony Programmable I/O Control Device Driver Utility or Sony Notebook Control Driver
4. Sony Shared Library Update
5. Sony Utilities DLL Update
6. Sony Event Service (If available)
7. Sony AV Mode Button Utility (If available)

Reinstalling the operating system will surely make your computer faster. Since you do not have Windows 7 disk and you do not have hardware driver for your laptop. I suggest you send it to reformat to a technichian for a small fee and he will download the correct hardware driver for your netbook and then reinstall the fresh operating system. will sure will run your computer faster. right-click "My Computer" > properties > "Hardware" tab > Device manager
do you see yellow question mark(s)? If so you may need a sound driver. provide you exact laptop model

plz download the sound drivers from the manufacture website and install it

try to restore your system using restore point located in accessories/system tools, if problem still exist no other choice is to reformat your system, maybe your system infected with virus. antivirus cannot protect 100% of the system even it is updated regularly.

If you have linksys hardware install the cd that came with hardware and get to linksys website and download latest driver. Reformatted cleans drive to zip data and you needed to reload XP to get it going so anything you installed after the system purchase you will have to reinstall.

Do a recovery first and if you are still getting a blue screen on this 1525 call dell and ask for a replacment do not go any further in trying to repair it yourself as anything you do would just make matters worse if its out of warrenty then the only thing you can do is try:

1. clean the unit if there is any dust
2. try new memory modules
3. run a memory diagnostic on it using windos diagnostics
4. recover the operating system.

if you can access the internet, you can visit support.toshiba.com to download the drivers needed for your computer. and that includes the driver for your sound card. all you need to do is access downloads and look for the specific model of your Toshiba laptop.

This is one of two things, 1- an operating system error or glitch, a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc will fix it, or 2- a hard drive failure. If the system repair doesn't work, then reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system. go to another computer, and install utorrent. google "xp 25,000 drivers + torrent" .
download the torrent and burn to a cd. Make sure the file is legal to download. Then, insert cd into your computer, go to the windows control panel, open up the system icon, find the sound controller, right click it and select update driver. in the driver update process, select the cd as the source to look for the driver.
