Re: ?Remote test? on screen

You have to reset the device: 1. Lock and then unlock the IPOD using the Hold button. 2. continually press both the Menu and Select buttons at the same time until the apple logo shows up(this should take 6-10 seconds). You might have to repeat the step several times. If running into problems during resetting place the device on a flat surface and make sure that while pressing Select you?re not touching the touch wheel, and that you?re pressing Menu on the outer part of the wheel and not towards the center. If that didn?t work try connecting it to a wall electricity socket or the PC and see if it effects the situation in any way. Good Luck

Faulty screen for iPod 4g

If you notice that your iPod screen has turned white and is completely unresponsive you can unfortunately assume it is a software issue.
(If you've damaged your iPod, it's a hardware issue that most likely cannot be fixed.)
Sometimes the iPod just freezes up much like a computer and you have reset it to get it working properly again.
If your iPod ends up with the "white screen of death," try a hard reset to see if that fixes the problem.

Unplug the iPod from your computer or any other docking power station.
It must be independent of any other device.
Attempt a "hard" reset.
iPod Nano (6th Generation) owners should hold down the "Sleep/Wake" plus "Volume Down" buttons at the same time.
All other iPod models require a two-step approach:
1. Toggle the hold switch on and then off again.
2. Press the "Menu" and center "Select buttons or the "Play/Pause" and "Menu" buttons (depending on your actual model) simultaneously.

Hold the button combination for approximately 8 to 15 seconds until you get an Apple logo.
Allow your iPod to reset itself and turn back on after you see the Apple logo.
Set up your iPod as a new device rather than from a backed-up file once it is restored.
This prevents you from getting a white screen of death again if the problem was in your iPod's setup.

How do i get the radio to work

Besides playing your favorite songs and custom playlists, you can also listen to your favorite DJs and talk shows on your iPod Nano by using it as a radio.

The iPod Radio Remote is a small and convenient accessory that lets you tune in to live radio when you're on the go, and also allows you to remotely control your iPod. Here is how you can easily setup Radio Remote on your iPod Nano and start using it as a radio.

  1. Connect the ipod Radio Remote to your iPod Nano by plugging it into the dock connector. Plug your headphones into the port at the top of the Radio Remote, next to the hold switch.
  2. Once the Radio Remote is connected, select "Music" and then "Radio" on your iPod. The Radio Remote will automatically tune in to the first available station it finds. The iPod screen will show the radio station and any other available information or data.
  3. Press the center button on the iPod. Use your iPod click wheel to find other stations. Once you have found your favorite station, hold the "Center" button down until a triangle appears on the radio dialer on your iPod screen.
  4. Once you have set up all of your favorite radio stations, use the "Next/Fast-Forward" or "Previous/Rewind" buttons to navigate between them.
Good luck.

ITunes screen freezes on connecting the iPod. The ipod is not detected by iTunes even in disk mode. No menu of iTunes opens up when iPod is connected

if itunes is freezing when connecting the ipod then 1 of 2 things are happening

the ipod has an error on the disk and needs to be replaced or your anti- virus is going to scan your ipod for virus and can because its an ipod -

so test your ipod with another cpu that will tell you alot

if it freezes itunes on 2 different cpu then its the ipod -if it works fine then its your anti-virus - you need to disable or remove

norton is Nestorius for this

How can i listen to radio with my ipod classic 120gb, ill appreciate it thank you

Yes you are correct. You could listen to Radio on iPod classic 120GB.You can listen to radio using the optional iPod Radio Remote accessory for iPod classic.iPod Radio Remote attaches to iPod classic using the Dock connector cable. When you’re using iPod Radio Remote, you see a Radio menu item on the iPod classic main menu.

You can also look at the manual that would have all information. You can View it from :-

You need to have Acrobat Reader to view this.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Main screen is frozen immediately when I turned it on

Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

Dynex iPod Dock with Remote Control connected to a tv. Volume not loud enough even though volume on tv and ipod volume are all the way up.

i had the same problem. it seems that you have to use the remote to turn the volume up on the ipod instead of doing it manually. that worked for me.

Apple ipod

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
