If the connector needing repair is in the side of the GPS unit, it would have to go back to the factory. If it is just the cable connector for power from cigarette lighter or the 120 adapter, those parts are also available at Magellan.

I have an Acer aspire 4551-2615 Laptop thats not charging. When the adapter is connected to the charging port, the power led does not display any signs of power. i Have tried a different power adapter but...

The chances are that the power jack on the motherboard has been separated (broken). If you are good at microsoldering you could try to repair it yourself. The safest bet is to take it to a laptop repair shop where they can replace the jack. This is a common problem due to the stress on the jack.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

I have no clue.....i have an HTC hero and since it's month with the HTC repair servie, I've been getting a notice about NOT having an SD card on my phone. What's with that? Would I have had an SD card...

Hi an sd card is an extra memory card you can put in your phone to give you extra memory so you can store more music or ringtones or games etc.

the reason you have been getting this message is due to the fact that you have nearly used up all the memory on your phone so it gives you a warning telling you this.

you would not have had an sd card when you bought the phone as this is an extra you have to pay for.

all you need to do is take your phone into any phone shop and they will be able to give you the correct sd card for your phone as they all come in different sizes, the chances are the one for your phone is micro sd and it will fit either in a slot under the battery or their will be a slot under a cover somewhere on the side of the phone.

you dont need to have an sd card but if your phone is giving you that warning then the chances are you would benefit from one.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

My al1721 is dead and was wondering how to get rid of it because i doubt you can just throw it in the bin

A local computer shop may be willing to recycle it for you, or take it off your hands on the chance they can repair it. Otherwise, I'd think they would know where to recycle it in your area. Give them a ring.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Streaming hulu, youtube videos in HD

You have plenty of CPU power. It will max out because the cpu is constantly processing the information to continue streaming the information to your screen, that is very normal. I would suggest some more RAM, at least 1 gig and only get a different video card if your into heavy game play with the newer online games out there.

I'm suggesting the extra RAM because it is a good way to make sure the more of the information is streaming at one time so there is less of a chance for interruption during streaming. Hope this helps.

MSI Board getting hung and not passing POST stage

Either the hard drive cable isn't plugged in correctly or the power supply connector is faulty and try another power connector. With the hard drive, make sure the cable to the hard drive is connected withe the red line on cable faced to the same side as the power connector. Also check that the connector on the hard drive is either on Master or Slave mode if on the same cable as the CD Rom. The motherboard sounds like it's working correctly. Even try to see if connectors are correct on the CD Rom and floppy drive. Good Luck!

I tripped over the coaxial cable which ripped the cable connection port out of the back of my RCA 27" tv. is there anything i can do?

Hi,

Chances are that the cable was ripped off the connector. This is relatively easy to do but assuming that you have not done this before directions would be needed. Pls see this link for step by step instructions. Of course you would need to remove the connector at the back of the TV and see if you can still use that or purchase a replacement from any electronics parts store.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

B;owing fuses, wont power up, just smokes

Hi,

Try checking the reverse protection diode. This diode would normally be connected right after the power connector and would be the biggest diode inside. One way to verify if this is defective and causing the fuse to blow is even with the power switch at the OFF position, the fuse will still blow.

If on the other hand, the reverse protection diode is good and fuse will not blow when power switch is at OFF, then the short/defective component is inside. There would only be two (2) major components that can cause the fuse to blow with the power switch to ON, the final transistor and/or the audio IC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Followup on power connectors

Hi chweb1230, to answer you're question. Yes, I would suggest getting a power supply that would comply with the ATX main 24-pin power connector. The term backwards compatible references to boards that require less voltage, Ex; (A 20-pin main power board). If you intend to run serial ATA SATA drives & a PCI-E graphic card. The newer power supply will handle future upgrades. Suggest a 500 to 550W PSU should handle just about anything you add to the board.
chweb1230, when you make a post & are making reference from another post. Please copy & past that link into this post. If you are using a new user ID I can not look back & find what you are refering too.
