Question about Nintendo DS Console
Hi, I fix broken hinges on the Nintendo DS, but when I put it together, it did not have touch screen function. I messed with the cables, and I thought I had all the cables connected, and the F2 fuse was blown. I soldered it up, and it charges the battery, but now when I try to power it up, the green light turns on, the screen flashes for a second, and then it shuts off again. It is not the battery, I am almost sure of it, because it was able to charge a DS Lite battery, but the battery for the DS Lite starts up, and then dies like the original battery. If there is something that needs to be changed, I will gladly accept any advice.
SOURCE: Nintendo ds hinge fix
My sons ds hinge broke and i taped the console, he removed the tape and eventually he broke the cable and the black wire. we bought another case and a new cable and replaced them both and now the ds only flicks on then goes off. we assume its the wire,as its a small coaxial one,we soldered it together. it charges fine but wont power up any more,we have tinkered with it so many times and cant get a result. I am currently trying to find a repairer to look at it. I dont recommend repairing it yourself to save money, put the money towards a repairer.

You can buy a new plastic housing for your DS lite on many different sites. Some are great quality. If the DS still works (despite the broken hinge) it makes sense to replace the housing.
You should be able to find enough videos on youtube to learn how to disassembe the DS and not do any harm. Make sure that you buy a tri-wing screwdriver (also called a nintendo screwdriver).
Hope this helps

Well basically you cant charge it without a power input source so you gotta buy a new one or buy a power replacment kit on amazon or ebay
