SOURCE: Yzf600r won't start. It produces a whining sound.

1) remove the starter give it twelve volts. If the bendix gear is engaging check for broken teeth on flywheel. If it is not engaging replace starter.
2) if starter and flywheel are ok the timing chain is probally broken.

SOURCE: Engine cutting out when open throttle. YAMAHA NEOS 50cc MOPED

i had a simuler problem with my honda cr 250 moto-x bike it would start fine and you could keep it ticking over with the throttle(i have deliberatly unscrewed the tickover in case i come off,it will cut out) when i got on it,it would go for about 400-500 metres then splutter and die and not start again for around 5 mins. i immediatly knew it was a fueling problem. so after stripping the carb and giving it a good clean out i was baffled when i got back on and it still done the same. i then dismantled the fuel tap cleaned it all out and put it back together and tested it,it was very very slow so i unsrewed my fuel cap a little and was greated with the familur gush it should deliver. problem solved! the vent in my fuel cap had crystalised up,so the fuel was coming out but the air was not getting in,causing a vacuum and slowing down the flow and basically emptying the carb quicker than it can fill back up!!! clean your carb, fuel tap and any vents in your cap or tank. if this does not work then your bike must be over fueling or low on compression.

SOURCE: Hello, My Yamaha YZF600 motorcycle wont start.

Hi there jfdnet! Yeah if you hear the relay operating and the starter is getting no juies then you need to replace the realy. First i would check you see if you get power to the starter. Use a light tester to check the hot wire on the starter and if you do have power the starter is bad. If you have power going to the relay but not going to the starter then the relay needs to be replaced. It is always good to use a light tester of multimeter to back track from the problem to find the source. Example: You turn the ign. switch but the starter wont turn, start with the tester at the stater them back track up to the ign. switch. Eventually you will find where the power hits a "brick wall" of a faulty part. I hope that this helps you out. Post any more questions you may have.

When riding the bike looses power cut off. After sitting a while dash comes back it try to crank. Then cranks

I'd start by checking all the connections, make sure they're clean and tight. after that I'd start looking for a relay that is heating up.

If from sitting, pour some thin oil like ATF into spark plug hole, let sit for a day and try to push start it with plug out to loosen up...
When loose, pull off head and clean up cylinder and put in fresh rings at the least...

Engine cuts off when it gets warm have replaced fuel filter

You'll need to figure out if you are loosing spark or fuel pressure when it stops running.
I would say it is something electrical, could be anything from the ignition module to a relay.

Probably loses either gas or spark. So check fuel pressure when it won't start, and check for spark on a plug wire. If fuel pressure is low, probably a bad pump. If no spark, diagnose the ignition system: coils, ignition coil control module (ICM), crank position sensor, etc.

An easy way to see if you lost gas, is to spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into the air intake while cranking engine. If it rumbles and tries to start, you know it is a fueling problem.

The mower is turning over but won't start.' My husband is away so i have to solve it myself. its a LTH 1797

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

You must be sitting on the seat to start the unit and.... make sure the engine oil is serviced properly. If the oil level is low the low oil level sensor will ground out the ignition and it will not start. (no spark) If you have a choke... you must use the choke on a cold engine. This is just the basics. If your sure the engine is full of oil and it still will not start have someone help you with a spark test. The spark test is done with the spark plug wire disconnected from the spark plug or the spark plug removed. It is hard to do this test alone as you must be sitting on the seat to get spark. Feel free to ask any questions anytime.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly
