Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTP Built-in Dishwasher
Well you should have water up to the heating element. if there is more than likly your chopper is the culprate. do you make sure that there isn't big food particles on your dishes because that is a lot of stress on that chopper and that is what helps in the recurculation of the water to the top rack. and to clean out your dispenser.
So did you recently turn the main water supply off? if so by turning it back on that shoots a bunch of dirt particles throught the lines. So if you are not getting enough water it is probably because of your inlet valve being clogged with dirt and sand. clear that out it should solve the problem.
