How can I dim my screen?

Locate the Fn (Function) key on your keyboard. It may be on the bottom left side with dark blue letters. Locate the two "brightness" keys near the top of the keyboard. These will be in the "F" keys, possibly if F6 and F7. They should have little sun pictures or something similar to indicate brightness. Hold down the Fn key while pressing F7, or whichever "F" key your laptop uses to increase brightness. Tap F7 repeatedly until you reach the desired brightness. Fn must be held down as you continue to tap. Hope this helps.

Brighten or calibrate the screen

You would need to provide much more information. However the button the screen itself should take you into brightness on the lcd.The other way is right click on your desktop and open your video driver and increase brightness from there.

The screen is too dark to read anything though the power comes on. i tried to increase the brightness but did not work NEED HELP!!!

Sounds like your backlight or inverter is on its way out. You can pick one up on ebay.  Google how to check backlight/inverter issues with your model.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 laptop which now fails to detect the hard disk during a start up. It shows a PXE fault and won't proceed any further. The laptop is running XP.

Your computer is trying to boot from LAN. Somehow the boot order got changed in the BIOS. Access the BIOS and set the first boot device to the hard drive.

Refer to this article for further assistance.

How do I increase the screen brightness of the Acer Travelmate 6292. I have tried control panel - power options but screen brightness adjustment doesn't feature on it.

You need to press the blue FN button and the brightness up or down button.

looking at the laptop keyboard I suspect its either the up and down keys or left and right

let me know if you need anything else or further assistance before rateing.

Thank you,

Hi,

if it,s the same on 2 different monitors.
i,d look towards a faulty graphics card.
you should be able to increase/decrease brightness and contrast et,c. in your monitor settings in the control panel via the graphics cards interface program.

Screen to dark on my toshiba e10 qosmio laptop

Hi

Have you increased the brightness? If memory serves on the Toshiba you should have a "FN" key and on either on of the number keys or the F-keys there should be a little icon that looks like a "sun" and an arrow up, there should also be similar with arrow point down.

Hold down the FN key and at the same time press the sun up arrow key, and it should increase brightness.

Also some laptops have power saving settings where the brightness is turned down to prolong battery life, so check the power saver settings from the control panel.

Hope that helps
