Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

Power cutting out

Whilst I am playing my games the power will cut out after about 5 mins, it is not the battery as I have fully charged it and also tried to play games whilst it is charging but it still cuts out.

Any ideas ??

Could be a loose/faulty power switch, after playing for 1 minutes jostle the switch (not all the way to the off position though!) and see if that causes it to switch off - new switches are cheap (<£2.00), then go to your local TV repair center and ask them to fit it! (should be <£5), assuming you take the console to pieces first.

Also sounds like it could be a dry-joint, usually fatal. As you play the circuit board slowly warms up, until the slow heat expansion, forces a soldered connection to fail (finding out which one is the challenge) as the heat makes it come apart.

Finally, where did you buy it, if new, ignore this. Otherwise someone may have by-passed the fuse(s) by hard-wiring them - do a gooGoogle search for "DS Lite Fuse" and you will see pictures to help you see if this has been done. There is no fix.

Finally sell it one eBay for £50 (you will get £50 for it) and buy a new one for £85 - It's only £35 investment and you get a new one!

Good Luck

Did you fully charge both batteries before using them the first time? If not then they may not be able to hold a charge. It sounds to me like the batteries are either dead or defective as obviously the saw now doesn't have the juice to cut the board. If it's still under warranty take it back and get a replacement. Also, how powerful are the batteries? Even an 18V saw will struggle sometimes cutting a 2x4, they just don't have that much power. The plywood is easier to cut obviously.

15 min energizer charger cuts off after 5 seconds

Plug it into mains without battery.
Put the battery(s) into place. If batteries OK (but need charging) it will begin charging. If batteries very low it will cut off. If batteries charged it will charge only 1 - 10s.

Playstation 3 (PS3) Console: i had a power cut whilst playing ps3 , now it wont...

First thing to try is a video reset.

While the PS3 if off (red light solid) hold down the power button until you hear the SECOND beep, quickly release.

Let me know if this works, otherwise we'll try step 2.

It sounds like a mother board problem since you upgraded the bios and got different results. Try plugging in the adapter and warming it up. Will the computer run without the battery? that will also let you know if it's the battery.

My initial thought was that your AC adapter may have a heat problem or failing after a while. Wrap it in plastic and put it in ice and see if it lasts longer. If you have the same problem there are other issues going on in the computer power system.
