Another option is that even though you have administrator rights under your user account, you are not logging on as THE administrator. When you start the computer and are presented with the welcome screen (you DO get the welcome screen requiring password, right?), you need to press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice to bring up another screen which allows you to TYPE the word "Administrator" in the username and then either type the password for that account or just click OK (leaving the password blank). THIS will log you in as THE administrator, not just a user account with administrator rights. There is a HUGE difference between the two types of login and you need to be logged in as THE administrator to access registry keys.

If you do not see the Welcome screen when turning on the computer, you have not set a password for your user account (not very safe) and it will automatically log you in under your user account. To get to THE administrator account, you will need to boot up in Safe Mode.

If you are seeing this 1402 error for install and uninstall, there may be some corruption in your registry. If you were on XP, I would say run scanreg /fix to try and fix the registry,

Finally, do you have any other Acrobat products installed? I ask because if Adobe Reader is uninstalled, and there are no other Acrobat products,

Your firewall or antivirus program is blocking the program from editing the registry if you want to use the program you need to disable your security program for the duration of the setup.

I would personally suggest the following better problems (In my personal opinion)

www.avast.com - AVAST HOME register it and get a years lisence, thats free for home use.

www.zonealarm.com Zonealarm basic firewall also free, for improved protection.

http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.h... Spybot search and destroy, Highly recommended anti spyware / adaware program.

I have been with computers for around 10 years now, actively. I have never heard or used the program you mentioned but I can see from the error that, another program is blocking it from writeing into the registry.

You probably have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:
http://majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:

Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira...

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

It sounds like you have a virus or some malware
Try opening internet explorer in no add ins mode and run an up to date anti virus package checking for Antivirus,, spyware, malware and rootkits. AVG has a free version that is pretty good.
