Check on the fuse box, am sure that a starter fuse is blown. the alternator might be the causer. as you said you changed it not so long. When you find out the fuse are ok, check also the solnoid wire on the starter motor beside the main wire, when that is good then might be the carbon brushes are won need to be replaced

Testimonial: "Thanks For the help, I will try these things, this was helpful, I check a few wires, and some fuses but not the ones you are refering to!! Thnx Again!"

Several possible solutions here. I'm assuming you know how or know someone who knows how to check the following items on your car: Check your ignition switch, make sure it is connected properly and is working. Make sure cables are connected properly to the starter. Check the starter solenoid switch (if you can, remove the starter and take it to a store like autozone to have the starter tested for free). Check the ignition/pickup coil. Check that distributor cap and all wires are properly seated (distributor cap/rotor could be faulty). Hope this helps.

Hello, I just had a baby on the way leaving from the hospital I parked my car next day it won't start, I have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe it won't crank over it won't start the shifter is also stuck in park...

Check your battery. Turn on light see if it can be on.if everything is good check electrical cable positive and negative. If everything is good check engine oil with transmission.

Car will not start - no clicking sound when providing ignition, wipers and lights worked fine. Mechanic started it with external starter - says its a starter motor problem - need another opinion.

Don't you trust your mechanic ? If he's any good he would have done a voltage drop test on the starting system . This test would eliminate connections an battery cables as the problem . Leading to the conclusion the starter is bad . Any lights like anti theft lit ? SECURITY , Immobilizer On the instrument cluster . Starter Voltage Drop

My car will not start. The battery is new and has a full charge and turns everything on when I turn the key but when I try to start it, it will not do anything not even clicking noise.

if the battery is good it is NOT the alternator. the alternator charges the battery, if it won`t start with a new battery the alternator does nothing to affect the situation. check voltages at the starter motor connections for proper voltages even the wires that the ignition switch supplies power to. if you have proper voltages at the starter you can try hitting the starter while someone tries to start the car. if it starts the starter is worn internally and will have to be replaced.

Turn on ignition everything works but want start

sounds like a starter. if possible without getting hurt maimed or mutilated, try tapping on the starter (best done with a rod standing beside the car) while someone holds the key in the start position. if car starts (works about 50% of the time) it's the starter. otherwise, if all lites come on, radio works, etc but nothing when you turn the key, replace the starter

2006 Hyundai Tiburon Question!

I live in Northern Ontario and I use my Tiburon as my 'winter beater'. Despite all of the problems with the car, mine starts reasonably well in very cold weather.

Getting your battery checked was a good start. The next step is to check your starter motor:

If the starter motor is failing, then it will just 'click' and not try to start the engine at all. Then, after a few attempts, the starter will suddenly work and start the engine just like normal. If this is the case, then get your starter replaced.

What do i do when my car wont start?

Your starter needs more voltage and amperage than just about anything else in the car. The items you mentioned may work but there may not be enough power to operate the starter. Have the battery charged and load tested (200 amp load for fifteen seconds) voltage should not drop below 9.5 during load and must return to 12v immediately after load is removed. Dirty or loose connections at the battery will do the same thing...when power demand increases when starting, the connection will break. Make sure those connections are clean and secure. If everything I mentioned checks out good, you need to test the starter relay and the starter itself as well as the neutral safety and ignition switch. From what you said, I don't think you need to go that far though.
Need any further info, Just ask.
Good Luck!!
