Question about Sharp FO 5700 Plain Paper Laser Fax

Sharp FO 5700 - Please Wait For A Moment message

I have a FO 5700 that was powered off for the weekend and when turned on Monday it would only display the Please Wait For A Moment message. I seen you recommended a memory clear will reset the machine but how do you perform a memory clear on this model? No button combination I have pushed so far seems to do anything. I've power cycled several times but no luck. Typically this fax is left on all the time but was powered off due to weather concerns for the weekend. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Jeff

Hold down the stop and start key while turning on the fax, let go when you see 1 for yes 2 for no for memory clear. Press 1.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

MEMORY FULL ON SHARP UX-460

In addition to clearing memory this *will reset unit to factory defaults.
*****all of your programmed settings will be erased.

First power down the fax by unplugging, then power on.

After the power is turned on and "WAIT A MOMENT" is displayed, press & hold the STOP key.....until a normal display message shows.

*The above step allows the memory to be cleared! If this step is skipped clearing memory to factory defaults, (below) may not always work.

Press the "function" key followed by ALL of the following

9 * 8 # 7

wait until "diag mode" is showing.

Then press start button, followed by either * or #
until "memory clear" message is displayed.

then press start. If stressful "memory cleared" is shown.
proceed to re-program your fax machine settings.

How to get the page count for a Sharp FO-5700 fax machine

freginold_1.jpg

Sharp makes a line of fax machines, one of which is the FO-5700. The FO-5700 is easy to maintain and to use, and it can run well for years. If you want to view the life counter (page count) for your FO-5700, just follow the steps below.

With the fax machine on and ready, flip up the bar that displays the information for half of the quick dial buttons (#17-32). This bar has a tab that you can use to flip it, which sits right by the panel release lever (where you would put your hand to raise the operation panel if you had to remove a paper jam there). Just flip this bar up so that it covers the first half of the numbers instead of the second.

Once the bar is flipped up, you'll see that the V button is labeled "Life." Press that button to bring up the counter menu. Then press 1 on the fax machine's number pad. The screen will display "1: Life Counter" and below that, "LIFE=xxxxxx" where "xxxxxx" is the page count of the machine, in six-digit format.

You can view this life counter at any time, without having to print out a configuration page or usage page. To exit out of the life counter screen and return to the main screen, press the red Stop button. Be sure to flip the contacts bar back to its original position; there is a sensor that detects which way the bar is laying, and if it's still in the up position, pressing a button will have a different effect than it would if the bar were in its original position (such as bringing up the life counter instead of dialing a number).

Sharp fo 4700 display error ( polygon )

You have a bad printhead unit(laser unit) . The polygon mirror is not rotating within a specific amount of time. I recommend you to replace your fax unless your willing to spend between 200 to 500 dollars.

Sharp UX-117 display Wait a moment on power on and then no signal

I have not worked on a sharp ux-117 before, however most sharp fax machines are all alike when it comes to resetting this code. Turn the fax on while holding down the stop and start key don't let go until you see 1 =yes, 2=no for memory clear. press 1=yes. Some of the sharp fax machines have a small white rounded reset button. No guarantee but you have nothing to lose.

I have never seen this error code on a sharp FO 5700 are you sure that is the right model # or error code. I even did a search in the FO5700 service manual(no luck). I believe I have seen this code before on a sharp copier.

Go underneath the machine and make sure that a black piece of plastic is secured in there. Sometimes they get pulled out when the tray gets removed.
