Check first that there is no paper stuck inside the printer, ensure also that you remove cellotape strip from new cartridge.
Try removing cartridge and putting them back in place, then unplug printer power cord and plug it back in five minutes.

If it is not printing at all it can be a driver problem, do the following.

    • Unplug printer USB.

    • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) your Lexmark from printer list.

    • Use printer disk to install driver or download and run driver from website here: Drivers and Downloads

    • Follow driver installation wizard.

    • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
If it does not work let us know.

I changed the black ink cartridge and the printer

Calibrate your new blank ink cartridge, have some nozzle check, cleaning check, and printer alignment. This are procedure that new ink cartridge will have to calibrate before you use. Epson printer are very sensitive when capable of changing ink cartridge. Unlink HP directly work without any print test because the cartridge head and ink join together, Epson with ink cartridge and the head separate.
Have some test on it at Printer Maintenance.
I'm sure 100% works on it.
Good luck!

Printing to card

The solution in this case is to either use Canon card paper to print on or set the media type in your printer driver to the correct paper.

The paper you are using is not absorbing the ink correctly, so when the paper exits the machine the rollers are contacting the ink and causing the smudging.

Either you have to alter how much ink is being used by changing the media type in the printer driver, or you have to buy the correct Canon paper

I've seen this happen on Canon's Photo printers when a generic glossy paper was used. Switching to canon paper solved the problem.
