Question about Brother MFC-8840D All-In-One Laser Printer
I get a paper jam when I copy using the auto feed. The paper being copied rolls down to the flat panel area instead of winding up in the tray on top. Please let me know how to fix, or do I need to take it in to a repair center?
The narrow glass section at the left of the flat bed scanner glass is shaped concave to route the paper back up to the tray if you are using the document feeder. Right above this is a spring loaded paper guide that puts slight pressure on the paper as it is fed through. If the cover of the scanner is not closing completely it will miss guide the paper. I would check that there is nothing on the flatbed or in the hinge section that is keeping the cover lifted slightly. The hinges do extend for copying books, so it may have jammed in the up position causing your problem. Good luck!
