Go to 'Network Connections' and find what your router number is and type tthat number into the Internet explorer URL and it should come up a password thing. Enter user as 'admin' and password as 'admin'. Example of router number can be '121.22.56' somthing like that it should say in the the network connection.

Router password change

The easiest way to do this is to find the reset button, press it in and hold it for about 30 seconds to a minute. This puts the whole thing back to factory defaults. From there you should be able to access the router from your PC via an Ethernet cable (you will need to look up the default user and password) or via wireless (there will be no wireless password as routers come without them most of the time and you have to enable the password security). Either way, cable or wireless, you have access to your router.

How can I put password on my prolink-h6300g router

Open INTERNET EXPLORER and. (In the URL address field), enter the IP address for your wireless router ( the DEFAULT GATEWAY. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.do not type "www" just the number
Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers you can try "ADMIN" for user name and "PASSWORD" for passsword.
You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords.

How do i reset my password for my belkin router

Hi Andrew,
If you have not entered a password before during the setup, you wouldn't need one and could leave the password field blank and still get in to the router.
If you have entered a password and forgotten it, then you'll have to do a factory rest. Unfortunately this will wipe all the data and put it back to factory status.

Setup steps:

  1. Locate the reset hole on the router. The button will be on the back or side of the router.
  2. Leave the router powered on.
  3. Use a paperclip (or similar) to press and hold in the reset button for 10 seconds.
  4. Remove the paperclip.
  5. Wait approximately one minute for the router to restart.
  6. The settings for the router have now been reset back to their default.

There is a photo on the belkin website which will help if you cannot find the reset hole:
Belkin factory reset information
Regards
Mike

Have wireless network at home trying to add my sons laptop to network but have forgot security key/passphrase which laptop is asking for

All you need to do is log into the router usually with the pc that is attached to the router (wired) by typing into the run command box http://192.168.1.1 Depending on the brand of router you'll either put in admin and no password or admin for the password or admin and password for password. Once in the router go to the wireless security tab and you can see the network key. Hope this helps

I have a linksys wireless G router. My exhusband put a password on it and I do not know the password. My wireless card on my laptop went out and I had to buy a new one. Now I need to have the password in...

I'm guessing you don't have the key to join the wireless network. If you have an ethernet cord you can hook your laptop directly into one of the numbered ports into the back of your router. After it's hooked up open a web browser such as internet explorer or safari. In the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 and a password dialog should pop up and the default router username is admin and password is admin. If thosed don't work try either admin blank or blank admin. After that you should have a page with tabs at the top click on the one that says wireless, then there should be a sub-tab called security that has the wireless key there.

If the admin password doesn't work there is a small red button on the back of the router that you can press with a pen and hold down for 15 seconds to reset the router to factory defaults that means no wireless password and that the wireless netwok will go back to the default name "linksys" . Though if you choose this route you might look into putting a password on your wireless depending on how crowded your neighborhood is. If you need any more help drop me a line on this question.
