I solved same problem.
Just format the system tools partition 100MB/350MB and then go for clean installation (format of disk 0 and install) 99.99% you problem will clear.

Samsung has a built in great power management. It will reduce power brightness to 50% or less if unplug from power cord. <<< it gives more times for power on the battery stays longer. BUT if you demand for some cases eg.PRESENTATION >>> go to CONTROL PANEL >>>power option >>> presentation. APPLY >>> OK

SOURCE: I Am Using Samsung Nd10

Hello,

Usually, when you get the issues that you are having it may be your system is not compatable to Windows 7. You should be able to check to see if your system will work with Win 7 from the install disk itself or go to Microsoft website and check online. Sometimes the checks will show your system will work with the os BUT at a lower speed/performance until you brin the system up to spec. You may have to revert back to XP for better performance.

Good Luck

There are actually buttons on your laptop that are made for changing brightness.
Hold the "fn" key, and press the "Up" button while holding the "fn" key.
Do the same thing to lower the brightness, except hit the down key.
"fn" + "Up" Raise Brightness "fn" + "Down" Lower Brightness

The brightness is lower in order to save battery power when not plugged in to the mains power supply.

To adjust the brightness and other things open the Control Panel and then click on the Display icon and select the desired function from the list on the left.
