Question about PDAs

I have a Kidde model 0976 9V battery powered ionization smoke alarm. It chirps roughly every 45 seconds. I have changed the battery but did not cure the problem. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Thanks

Hi - I think I just fixed the problem for mine. I had the exact same problem. Literally just got back from the store with 2 brand new 9v batteries with an exp. date of 2013 (I made absolute certain they would be years away from expiring). I installed them, and I'll be damned if they didn't start chirping again. As I read the instructions one more time, it occurred to me that it was in hush mode. I pressed the "Push and and Hold To Test" button for about 2 seconds - not long enough to set it off. It hasn't chirped since, and it's been nearly an hour. Try that and see what happens. Good luck!

Remove the battery, wait a few minutes, and replace the battery while holding down the power button for 15 seconds. You may have to restore your data.

My T-Mobile MDA won't turn on or take a charge, battery was low

I had the same problem, but got the idea to "jump start" the battery from Googling the problem. At night, I had turned off my MDA to charge the battery and then in the morning, couldn't revive it. I removed the battery from my MDA, and determined which battery terminal was positive (far end of one side) and negative (far end of the other side) by using a multi-meter. BTW: Battery was still @ 3.5V (okay…battery was still alive, if just barely). Then, I found a 5V DC charger (5W Max output = ~1A) from my bluetooth headset. I used one wire (CAT5E) and connected it to the negative side of the adapter (outer sleeve - again, verified by multi-meter) and another wire to connect to the positive tip of the adapter. I had to strip about 1/2-inch of the insulation off of the wire on the DC adapter side, and about 1/8-inch of the wire on the battery side. Plugged in the 5V DC charger and then I touched the negative wire to the negative battery terminal and held it there, while I touched the positive wire to the positive battery terminal for about 30-45 seconds. Put the battery back in the MDA, started it up, and now it's charging on the regular MDA AC Charger that came with the phone. Problem solved.

Cannot turn off the alarm

The problem appears to have resolved itself. The oly changes I made to the smartphone was to power it off and insert 16GB mini SD memory card. Since powering back up I have not had the alarm warning.

Acer n310 pda power problem

I have a Acer pda model C530 and it has a switch that detects if the cover is correctly inserted, check that switch, buy electronic contact cleaner spray and clean it (and clean the battery contacts,on/off button) if possible try with a new or known good battery. If it has dropped to the floor it might have some bad contacts.

Duplicate alarms

I may be off base but might the problem be as simple as the frequency being set for the alarm. What I mean to say is, might the default reminder time for the alarm be set to such a low setting like sec's or minutes leaving the unit to repeat the alarm rapidly prior to your being able to dismiss/snooze. Good luck.
