This crib(simplicity 8994W) was given as a gift over 2 years ago. We had no idea it was recalled. We were thinking of using as a toddler bed,but we're missing allen bolts and don't know what size they're supposed to be. Any suggestions?

I see you want to use it as a toddler bed and this doesnt appear to be a concern of the recall. Only use as a crib has been discouraged. However, I do know that one of my customers returned the exact same bed to Walmart and got $180 cash. Please consider taking it to them so that any future use as a crib will be prevented along with any injury to a future infant sleeping in it. With $180 you can purchase a very nice toddler bed, even splurge! Good luck.

Bring it back to the store where you bought it for refund or exchange to a different company. Simplicity for children is on recall do to they are no longer in business.

There is a recall on thin crib you can take it to the store were you bought it and they should refund your money. I have one and Im taking my to the store tomorrow.

Most if not all of the simplicity brand cribs have been recalled reguardless of whether they had wood or metal mattress supports.

There were 2 different recalls on the wood version but both were recalled for the drop-side issues.

We took ours to our local walmart last summer (we purchased it in a different state almost 8 years ago). I brought to cpsc report with me. They had not issue with the recalled information we has matching it to our crib. It did take the clerk a bit to find our crib in their system because it was older, but once she did we recieved a full refund, without a receipt.

As far as changing them to a toddler bed. When we converted ours to a toddler bed we simply removed the drop-side from the crib. The drop-side parts can be unscrewed from the side rails. Then we screwed the toddler rails to the bottom of the crib. Ours had screw holds for the toddler rails on the mattress support. If you do not have the holes for it, then you may have put the mattress support on backwards ie with the side that has the holes for the toddler bed rails on the backside of the crib.

It seems that the company may be out of business. I have been searching for instructions for an 8748AWT for a long time and have never found them.

i have lost the directions to my 4 in 1 simplicity crib, we are trying to convert it to a twin or the daybed but do know how, the manafacturing code is 3804cw and the vender item # 8994w, if u have any info on this bed please let me know.

These cribs were recalled, so call simplicity at 888-593-9274 about the recall to be sure but yours is on the list of model #'s. They are sending new hardware and can send indtructions as well. Good luck!
