I did that in my shredder and had to use the backwards option for a long time...forwards then backwards and pulling out the material little by little. It is a slow can sometimes pry it a little but make sure you don't insert anything while shredder is operating. I always unplugged mine when trying to tug the stuck paper out of it. You don't want to take any chances. Good luck!

My shredex Brute 340 will reverse but will not shred. Can you help?

Hi, try this;

Move the power switch to AUTO (l) position and depress the manual forward button for five seconds to clear paper blockage.

Make sure the paper is engaging the sensor located in the center of the shredder opening.

My Royal VF880 shredder is not working. It is not shredding anymore and makes a very loud racket when you try to use it.

Likely-hood is that you have taken the teeth out of a plastic drive gear inside...suggest you open it up to see what is broken then you can contact Royal at 1-800-524-0799 for parts assistance.

Not a problem yet. Does this shredder require any oiling of the components? If so where and how?

Well considering your question about a shredder is posted under "fax machines" you have a problem...if it was/is a shredder then I would suggest that you occassionaly put some shredder oil on a sheet of paper and shred the sheet of paper to get oil into the cutting teeth....but if its a fax machine then oil on the paper will make a real mess if you put it into the fax. So I hope you know what kind of machine you have 'cause I'm not real sure.

Shredder stuck/stuffed why isn't there a notice that the container is nearing capacity?

You don't mention brand or model. But, generally, if you Open the unit up and try to empty the trash area AFTER turning the power off. You can remove most of the shredded waste. This will allow you to close the unit, power it up, put one small piece of paper in to shred to clear out the teeth, Then, power down again, and clean out all the waste.

Shredder is making a noise, but is not shredding when I put paper in.

Look into the machine as you try and shredding a single sheet of paper. Are the cutters rotating? If not then it could be that your machine has a damaged drive gear. The motor will still spin but will not have gear teeth to engage. It's time to call a tech in.
If they are turning, you may have something blocking the paper path.

Outgoing fax makes loud clicking noise

2 different problems here. 1st is with document feed and 2 is with paper feed.

1st prob seems to be with the paper feed roller not meshing at the gear. Probably a broken piece on the lower document tray assembly. No real fix for this unless you can strip it out and haywire it.

2nd prob is probably a poorly meshing drum unit. Examine the gear teeth on both the drum and the machine. As you have replaced the drum already (presumably with a brand new one) You might possibly find a missing or badly worn tooth on the messhing gear in the machine.
