Question about Gateway SL9550-30165318 Notebook
When I power up my Solo 9550 laptop, I get the Gateway Screen with the Press F2 for Set Up. I do this and everything seems to be identified correctly (I have also unplugged all peripherals in case one of them is causing problems and same thing applies). However, after it identifies componants and memory checks out ok, it says Entering Set Up and just sits there. Any ideas on what might be wrong? I have tried Reset button numerous times and have installed a new CMOS battery (just hoping) but to no avail
It may be the bios.... remove the bios battery for at least ten minutes... make sure the main battery is removed
so there is NO power to the laptop for about ten minutes
.... after you reinstall the bios battery and put the main battery back in and plug in the external power.... boot it up again.

Tips for a great answer:
Turn on your computer. If your computer is already on, then reboot it.
You need to see the initial display screen to get into the BIOS.
Press the F1 key immediately in one second intervals when you see the initial screen displaying the BIOS provider information.
The majority of Gateway computers use the F1 key.
If, for some reason this does not work, then use the F2.
All of Gateway's desktops use the F1 or F2 keys.
hope this helps
