Re: Does the 2501 work through a USB hub?

Yes, in most cases this USB device will work properly through a USB hub; however, we recommend that you plug the device directly into the USB port on your computer for best performance.

I cannot get these plug in units to pair or connect to the laptop. is it me or are they ****?

If you can install a wireless repeater it may provide a better signal.
A wireless 3G network uses the mobile/cell phone network and can be separate or combine with your cell phone account. This type of Internet connection uses an USB wireless device shaped like an USB memory stick.

If I plug the USB cable into my printer, then I my usb network adapter stops working, as well as my usb hard drive. If I unplug the printer, then all the rest work. The printer used to work just fine...

MOst likely you have a bad driver or more likely a bad cable to the printer that is shoring the usb hub inside the pc.Try ot replace it if the problem still exists printer will need to be replaced.

I have a 4-port usb hub and it no longer works, haven't had it too long, what do you suggest

Does it have a power adaapter? If so, did you check it: Is it not being recognized by the computer:

to refresh the USB ports:
1. Right click MY COMPUTER
3. Select HARDWARE
6. Right click on each USB CONTROLLER and select Uninstall
7. Uninstall all entries
8. Reboot your computer
9. As your computer re-boots it will reinstall all USB connections it detects
THEN, when all other USB items have been configured and connected by the system, you then should try connecting your USB hub.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

Thanks, Joe

Need 'step-by-step' instruction to install a USB 2.0 4-PORT Hub. Please know that I am NOT computer 'savvy'! Thanx - Pat B

We all have to start somewhere! The simplest way is to see where your mouse is currently plug-in your computer: look for an identical 'USB' socket to the one the mouse is plug-in and plug the USB hub cable plug to this socket. You could also just unplug your mouse from the computer socket and plug the USB hub cable instead AND THEN plug the mouse in one of the socket on your Hub. The computer should automatically install the software require to drive your newly installed USB hub. Hope it helps!

WD My Book 1TB not recognised by belkin modem router USB storage

I have a work around for this.

In the detail of the Belkin manuals it says you can attach up to 4 USB storage devices via a USB HUB.

I had an old Hub so I Connected the HUB to the router and the Maxtor to the HUB --- It worked :-) It came up in a few seconds.

At first I powered the HUB but later took the power out of the hub and it still worked ;-} However when I used a different HUB it would not work without power to the HUB.

The HUB I use is an old Belkin 4 port Tetra Hub. The newer 7 port Belkin HUB (5 Rear 2 Top) only worked with the HUB powered.

Hope this helps untill Belkin Upgrade the Router sofrtare.

Ping Reply time Problem

Ok, great....
The 3ms to 10ms is where the reply times should be.
On your original question you stated 147ms - 87ms, but with a drop to 6ms-7ms (which is where it should be)
So it sounds like your connection is just re-establishing at start up.
How long do you have the keep alive set for?
How long had the connection been inactive before you pinged it the first time?
What are you using for authentication? 3DES? or something less?
Was the person that programmed your Cisco's certified? (in other words, did he know what he was doing?)

And are you having any connection problems while it is running?

I need to really understand access-list

If this article doesn't work for you, I have a 2501 on my network and can see if I have any access-list settings in place. I'm not 100% sure that I do.

It would help if I knew which version of the IOS you were running as well.
