? You can protect the appliance from being tampered by activating the child-proof lock.

To activate the child-proof lock:
1 Press the 1st and 2nd additional function buttons for 3 seconds.

3 The child-proof lock lamp on the programme follow-up indicator will light up when the childproof lock is activated.

Which model Siemens washer do you have? For the WM16Y792GB, the child lock is toggled on and off by pressing and holding 2 buttons that are below the LCD display screen on the left side of the screen for 3+ seconds. The phrase "Child Lock 3 seconds" is just below the buttons. The temperature and spin buttons are above the display in the corresponding location.

For the WM12Q391GB, the child lock is toggled on and off by holding the Start button for about 5 seconds. On this model, the Start button is the one to the farthest right. This button doesn't seem to have a symbol or text indicating that it also controls the Child Lock feature. The manual does tell how to toggle the Child Lock feature on and off.

Possibly, you will need an original remote to disable or turn off this feature. And some child lock can be accessible through neither MENU of your tv or remote. Check CHILD LOCK option to remove it. If it is a screen lock type of CHILD LOCK feature of tv (a Blue Background display a LOCK icon) and your original remote is lost, try a universal remote for you to possibly unlock it. CL is child lock. See your users manual for unlocking the child lock procedure. Usually it involves pressing 1 or 2 buttons for 3 to 5 seconds. Many machines actually have a lock button you press for 3 - 5 seonds. Others use the stop pause button.

Do the reverse of what you did to put the Child lock on from the front television panel, if you can remember.

If you can't the television may still allow you to bring up the menu and settings functions, scroll through the on screen display menu until you find the settings for the child lock and deselect it.

If you cannot get any type of on screen display with menu functions present on screen you may need to purchase a cheap aftermarket learning remote control, these cost from less than a tenner up.
