Question about Garmin GPS
When you say "voice" do you just mean the voice or all sound? (ex. touch screen beeps, mp3 sound etc.)
Try using a set of headphones. If you hear the sound there, then your speaker is bad. The speaker is a mechanical device and could break. It might be covered under Garmin's warranty if you registered it, however they may not cover the repairs if it was dropped.
I'd try Garmin first if its registered and under warranty. If not please email me at ks3r at sharc dot net and I can offer you a repair quote to replace the speaker.
I have references.
