Problem for Coffee and Espresso Makers
Generic problem for all Coffee and Espresso Makers
Espresso will not come through my Saeco Gra...
I have had this machine for some time, about 8 months ago the water was not coming through the coffee...thought perhaps it was ground too fine but that wasn't it...realized that I had not descaled it so I did and cleaned the portafilter and it seemed to work fine since until now. So I descaled it again but to no avail...thought it might be the portofilter so got a new one but that did not help....once heated up I try to make an espresso, you can hear the pump working but nothing comes out!! I am so frustrated, I love this machine and miss my coffee!!! I use a French/Italian blend of beans from a local roaster...maybe the beans are too oily and have clogged up things..what should I do can you help me!!!

PS: indeed, I forgot to put in the check valve. Now I did, original problem persists. By the way, you people might be interested in this:

- water comes through without handle. Seems to be a pressure problem. Dissassembled the handle and worked fine but now has clogged up again. Perhaps the rubber has perished and now its not getting to pressure to open the mechanism.- tomaszsawickDec 29, 2008
- same problem, adding that I assemble and disassembled the portafilter, and now water is coming through the screw that is holed. Probably I forgot to assemble something. Anyway, the problem is the same. - intisuarezOct 07, 2008
