Re: Port Forwarding

Instructions for DG834, DG834G, DG824M, FR114W, FM114P, FR114P, FR328S, FVL328, FVS328, FVS338, FVX538, FWAG114, FWG114P, or FVS318v3 These routers do port forwarding by assigning port numbers to a "service" associated with the application you want to run. "Rules" are set for particular services. Rules block or allow access, based on various conditions such as the time of day and the name of the service. To Create a New Inbound or Outbound Rule 1. Submit the router's address in an Internet browser. (The default is 2. Enter the router's username and password. 3. From the main menu, click Security > Rules. 4. Click Add for inbound or outbound traffic, as appropriate to the application you are planning to run. 5. Select the Service. The services the router knows about are listed in the drop down. If the service you want is not listed, add it as described in the next section. 6. Select the Action, for example ALLOW always. 7. For Send to LAN Server, enter the IP address of the local server. Note that this is also the IP address the computers on your LAN will access. 8. For WAN User choose Any, or limit access to particular IP addresses. 9. For Log selection it is reasonable to turn logs on, especially at the beginning when you are unsure of the result of the changes you are making. Later, you may want to set logs to "Never" for performance reasons. 10. Click Apply. As noted in user manual for some models: * Consider using the Dynamic DNS feature on the Advanced menu, so that external users can find your network when the DHCP lease is renewed by your ISP. * If your own LAN server uses DHCP, and your IPs change on rebooting, consider using the Reserved IP Address feature in the LAN IP menu. To Add a Service for These Routers 1. Click Security > Services > Add Custom Service. 2. Enter any name you choose for the service. 3. Select whether the service is to use TCP or UDP. If you are unsure, select both. 4. Enter the lowest port number used by the service. 5. Enter the highest port number used. If the service uses only one port number, enter the same number. 6. Click Apply.

modems are not routers. Routers can port forward. You need your WAN to face your ISP, and your LAN will need to face your router. Once you have your router talking to your ISP you can set it up to hand out interal network services, but I doubt SOHO routers will do port forwarding. Routers, however, can do port translation like passing gaming traffic over port 80 (web). You can do that in the security tab on your linksys.

How to portforward port 80

You must login to the router with a web browser and try to find the port forwarding options in the menu. You must then know the ip address of the machine you want to forward it to and create a "rule" to forward all traffic from port 80 to the ip address. But beware that port 80 is used by internet browsing and you could have problems due to that.

How do i port forward with a ZyXEL Prestige 660M-61 router?

The P660M-61 modem does not act as a router. It is strictly a "bridge" modem so it only passes the Internet connection straight through to your router. Any port forwarding you would need to do would be on the router.

In order to get to the page you need to port forward you need to know your default gateway.

Enter those into your web browser, if nothing comes up then go to Start. Then click run(or search if you have vista) type "cmd" then type in ipconfig

There is where you can see your default gateway. Enter that into you browser. I t might ask for a password, it's usually admin.

Also a lot of the port forwarding issues are due to your firewall settings. Make sure you add the ports to there as well.

Port forwording

ok port forward if any has router this is easy ill get too others in momment

routers port forwarding features type in ip address in internet explorer search bar at top
router ip's start like this 192. type the whole ip in
this will ask you for password and that usually is the word "password" or "admin" threw that you can set the router port forward by going down the list

now for comps with out routers
goto control panel
then network connections
right click on your connection
goto properties
goto advanced
goto settings
you will be directed to windows fire wall
goto exceptions add program or port you want to forward

basically port forwarding is a program that keeps 2 comps from having conflict with each other running the same program and helps in monitoring ports for intrussions

Port Forwarding

there is a way for you to port forward to anything that you would want, the only thing that you would need is the port numbers in order for this to work. Using terms.

1.) In your address bar, type in, "". And by default, your username should be blank, and your password is, "admin".
2.) Once onto the mainpage, look up at the top of the page, and go into advance.
3.) And then look on the left hand side, and click into a tab that says, "Forwarding".
4.) Fill in you information/chart.
a.) Easiest way to find your ip address is to go to, "Start"(bottom left of your screen), click "Run", and then type in, "ipconfig/all".
b.) Enter in your Start and Exits ports like I said in the beginning.
d.) And then click "Enable" box, and click, "Apply" at the bottom, and your done!
