Question about Toshiba 50HP66 50 in. Plasma Television
After 18 months of working fine, our plasma will not allow changing of channels. Regardless of whether one uses remote or side buttons, up/down channel button, or simply hitting any number on the remote's pad, feedback message reads: SEARCHING PLEASE WAIT. If one touches a single number on the remote, that number will appear on the screen as though indicating impending change, but then does not leave the channel it's stuck on (happens to be 24-1). I tried re-programming the channels in the menu, but still get the SEARCHING PLEASE WAIT message. I saw one other online posting describing the same symptoms. Can you isolate what chip/board needs replacement? I'm assuming it has to do with the tuner. But what do I know? (Wish I had the extended warranty.)
I had this problem. Unplug it while it is powered on. Worked for me.
