Question about SPSS SigmaScan Pro 5.0 (16283) for PC

No MENUs displayed on SPSS

I just installed a copy of SPSS 16 and at the top is a toolbar made of icons (data functions) but there isn't the usual, normal "File" "Edit"..... toolbar and nothing seems to work.

Very weird, I know.

Run that program with compatibility mode windows xp SP3 and reduce color mode 8-bit (256 color)

Quicken's preferences control various aspects of the program's behavior and appearance. In fact, aggravation may spur your first visit to the Quicken Preferences dialog box, as you look for a way to stop Quicken from doing something annoying, like giving payees the wrong names.As you gain experience and your needs change, you may want to adjust your preferences. Power users looking to speed up their Quicken sessions can troll the program's preferences for timesaving shortcuts they never knew existed.Just follow these steps when you're ready to start tweaking:

  1. To open the Quicken Preferences dialog box (), choose Edit → Preferences → Quicken Program.When you choose Edit → Preferences, you see two other menu choices: Customize Online Updates and Internet Connection Setup. Customize Online Updates primarily controls how Quicken and play together (). Internet Connection Setup is where you tell Quicken how to go online ().
  2. On the left side of the dialog box, from the "Select preference type" list, select a preference category.The preferences in that category then appear in the "Select preferences" area on the right.
    Figure : If you have a question about a setting, click the information icon at the bottom-left corner of the dialog box (the orange circle with a red question mark, not shown here). Quicken Help opens to the topic for the preferences you're looking at.
The Startup preferences tell Quicken what to display when you first launch the program. Out of the box, the program displays Quicken Home (), which initially shows the Quicken calendar. It's best to leave the "On startup open to" setting at Quicken Home, and then add a custom view of your finances to Quicken Home, as described on later in this chapter. That way, Quicken displays your custom view every time you launch the program.To choose a different view, or even a single account, in the "On startup open to" drop-down menu, choose the Quicken Center or account you'd rather see. For example, if you use Quicken only as a checkbook, choose your checking account or the Cash Flow Center to see your checking, savings, and credit card accounts.

How to save primavera project planner file in a flash disk?

Save the file, in the normal way.
Open the file (maybe "My Documents") that contains the saved file.
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on the icon for the file.
Point the mouse at 'Send To:'.
Click on the icon for the flash-drive.
This will copy the file.

To paste as hyperlink in edit menu in MsOffice 2003>Customize Toolbars Descriptions:

Paste as Hyperlink. Inserts the contents of the Clipboard as a hyperlink at the insertion point, replacing any selection. This command is available only after having cut or copied the contents of a cell or data from another program. So if you copy something from Word to the clipboard, paste as hyperlink should be available.

I want to transfer all sate data from my old laptop to my new PC, I have already installed the hardware on the new PC

Sage has an EXPORT function that you can use to transfer data.

You could also copy the daily files from the storage folder to a USB drive

O the new machine use the IMPORT function to import a backup of the files or use the folder options to get data from the USB drive to set up a new company profile which would use your old data to set up a new copy of SAGE with your exisying information.

The prefered option is IMPORT / EXPORT

Constants/missing correlations in SPSS

If all values for a specific "dummy" variable are identical, then you should delete the variable, because it adds NO information to your analysis.

If all values for one "dummy" variable MATCH the values for another "dummy" variable, then the two variables are 100% correlated -- remove one of them from your analysis.

Cannot save my data a second instance of Spss
(do not open it by clicking on a saved file -it will not open the backend that is requierd to let you save)

2. Make a new blank data file

3. go back to your original non-saveable work -- highlight the top tabs (and all your work) right click and hit copy.

4. go to the new blank spss data - right click on the top tab and hit paste- viola your work is now in a saveable version of spss (save now!!!!)

This problem occurs when the program is opened via a saved spss file and it does not open the second part of the program that allows you to save (bad bug). it is in view mode and will let you enter many hours of data before you release you cant save. (My wife was crying when she didnt think she could save her project for Grad school she had been workin on for 19 hours) I got lucky and figured out this work around.. Hope this helps all future SPSS folks this was a workaround for up to spss 17 (dont know if it works for 18 or if they have fixed this glitch).

First, select all the data you wish to transpose, and hit <CTRL>+<C> to copy it. Next, open a new sheet, and select the cell you want to be the top-left cell of your data (usually A1). Now, go to the Edit menu, select "Paste Special" and select "Transpose" from options presented.

If you choose, you can copy this sheet back to the original location.

Hyperlink function in ms access

To Create a Hyperlink Field:

Display the table in Design view, create a new field to store the hyperlinks, click the new hyperlink field's Data Type box, click the list arrow, select Hyperlink, and save the table.
To Insert a Hyperlink:

Select the hyperlink field and then click the Insert Hyperlink button on the toolbar or select Insert , Hyperlink from the menu. Either select a file you want (use the Browse button to help you locate the file) or type a Web address for the hyperlink's destination and click OK.

To edit a Hyperlink: Right-click the hyperlink and select Hyperlink , Edit Hyperlink from the shortcut menu.
