Re: Logging Does Not Work

In some circumstances NETGEAR routers check to ensure the source and destination of email messages are not the same address. If this happens, the router's logging messages are discarded. (The Reference Manual is not clear on this.) An easy way to solve this is to choose a different email server for the router's "Send to This E-mail Address" field. So if "Your Outgoing Mail Server" is (as shown in the manual) then DO NOT use for the "Send to This E-mail Address" field. Instead, use an email account you have on another server, such as hotmail. E.g., make the send field other way to solve this is to explicitly open the ports for SMTP and POP, 110 and 25. By default, these ports are closed on NETGEAR routers. (Other, non-NETGEAR related email problems are also solved by opening these ports.)

Lights are on all the time

Hi, maybe try resetting it.

You will loose of the settings by doing this, so make a note of the settings by logging into the router. You can do this by typing into your web browser address bar. The username is admin, the password is either password, 12345 or leave it blank. You can save your settings to your pc by logging in too.

Or you can use the cd from your internet provider to set it up once its reset.

To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process. Wait about 30 seconds to access the router. The default IP address is When logging in, the username is admin and leave the password box empty.

Now its reset you can restore your settings, manually, with internet providers cd or by using a back up file.

Let me know how you get on.

I cannot setup my WRT150-N router to work with my Wildblue Satellite Internet.

Access the router setup page by opening a browser and visiting The default login and password for my new router was admin/admin. If that doesn’t work try logging in as admin without a password.

Losing wireless connection after logging off

Log off? Not turn off?
Does the wireless work after you reboot?
If you log off but keep the computer powered it may be a power management issue.
Some network adapters have a setting to allow windows to turn them off to save power.
Go to the Device Manager, right click on the wireless adapter and select Properties.
Is there a Power Management tab? If so, click on it and remove the check mark from "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
