My father had a similar problem with his Navman here in the UK. I discovered he had turned off sections of his mapping software in the Navman - take a look at Preferences -> Maps -> Manage Maps to see if any areas are turned off.
The battery is defective or your charger is not working. Most likely it is the battery but the charger is a possible until checked. You may want to find a gps shop and find out if they can get a battery. You can also contact Navman and talk to support about sending it in to them for repair. The battery should be about $20 plus labour to install.
only one solution really, up date your maps. Unfortunately you cannot just update maps for the UK, only Western Europe which include latest maps for UK (November, 2008) - go to 'navman.com/' the site \is 'Navman - beyond navigation' - click on 'UK' - when page comes up click on 'visit our online store' - on the left click on '2008 software and maps' - click on the SD card for Fseries - £39.95 inclusive
The problem is that most of the chargers have the output of 5V/0.5A. The charger for NAVMAN (C30 in my case) has 5V/1A. And that is causing the trouble. The GPS is undercharged and is switching off itself. Buy one which specify the output power: 5V/1A.
Hope I solved your problem
