Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

Replacement screen Hi, I recently purchased an IRIVER H10 and a couple weeks after I bought it the screen cracked. The internal player is fine and it still works but the screen on the outside needs total replacement!! Help!!! Thanks

It could be worth while to search eBay for replacement parts, or find a dead H10 that has a screen that can be salvaged. If you already have the spare screen, installation would be much less costly... Good luck

How to reset my iriver H10 to factory defult


There is a small hole on top of the player it says reset beside the hole. You need a small straight pen to stick inside and press down you will feel it click , then restart your player.

My iRiver H10 will not power up

Hi Ozzieange.....the most common cause of this symptom for your specific player is that it's set on "hold". Ensure that "hold" isn't selected. If this hasn't resolved your issue, and you are using Microsoft as your OS, let's begin by updating the applicable software for your OS, released on 08-08-07 by clicking on the following URL: Download and install the above software, and finalize the installation process by restarting your computer. Once restarted, let's update the firmware on your Player by clicking on the following URL: Click to Download and Install the following Firmware: H10 Firmware Release V2.53 (dated Jul 05, 2006) If applicable, return to the above URL and click to Download and Install the following Firmware: [MTP] Iriver Firmware Updater V2.6.0.0 for MTP devices (dated Jun 22, 2007) Once these tasks are successfully completed, your Player, and the neccessary Software for your computer to properly communicate with your Player are now current and fully functional. Please return to update your post with your progress and/or observations.....good luck my friend

Iriver h10 20gb not recognized in UMS

I sometimes have to reset my iRiver in order for my Mac to see it. I have an h10 5gb, to do this, I have to remove the battery then reconnect the battery. Then I connect it the usual way to get into the UMS mode. But I think with yours it has it's own reset button. If it was working and now has stopped, I would think you just need to reset it and try again.

This is straight out of p. 67 of the user's manaul, available on iRiver website (it may not work if the computer does not recognize the device):

Initializing H10
Additional information
Firmware upgrade
What is firmware ?
It is the operating system that works in the H10.
iriver provides you with the latest and best features through Firmware upgrade.
You can choose manual or automatic upgrade function.
For information on automatic upgrade, refer to the iriver plus instruction manual.
Manual firmware upgrade
Select [Option - Firmware Upgrade] from the menu in iriver plus.
Do not disconnect H10 during firmware upgrade.
Internet must be connected for the "Firmware Update" function.
Change to "Player must be connected to the PC for Firmware Upgrade function.
Please initialize H10 player in the following cases.
All music, pictures, text, and data will be erased from the player during this initialization.
- if there appears to be corruption on the internal hard drive.
- if an error message displays and the player doesn't boot properly.
1 Connect the player and PC using the cable supplied with the player.
Open iriver plus.
Select [Option-Portable Device Initialization]. 2
Click [Start] to begin initializing.

Fimrware upgrade might actually result in this problem - check the iRiver help forums - i believe I saw a horde of people with this issue

Iriver h10 20 gb hangs quite often

it is not recommended to initialize while synchronising this will fry a couple of circuits inside
