Question about HP DeskJet 3820 InkJet Printer
You can run a self-test independent of the device your printer is attached to:
1. Turn the printer ON.
2. Press and hold the POWER button.
3. Press the RESUME button FOUR times.
4. Release the POWER button.
If that works, I would suggest taking a laptop or small PC to the printer and hooking it up. Try printing from the laptop. Let me know the results and we'll go from there.

When printing from the S or Pro Series printers, you may encounter blank pages being printed.
To rectify this issue, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

While on the main screen of the printer, open the cover.
Place the printer into "Replace Printhead" mode using the Maintenance menu. To access this mode, follow the steps below:
Open the covers and look into the printer on the left-hand side where the cartridges are inserted into the printhead - aWICKING PAD is located there.
Insert plain paper and run Deep Clean.
If you cannot get all four inks to lay clean, identify which one, if any of them, is failing.
